Questions for Friday, December 11th, '09: (I'm on a Christmas kick...I'll just continue that trend!! Thanks to Liz, Tyler, and Adrienne...and moi. Wanna throw out a question suggestion for a future Five Question Friday? Check out the discussion here...in my community!!)

1. Does Santa wrap the presents he leaves at your house?

No...Santa does not wrap the presents here. He found that it was one more thing to hide from prying eyes...that darn "Santa specific" wrapping paper.

So, no...Santa lays his presents out nicely in little piles mountains for the kiddos!!!

Mr. Wonderful disagreed with this in our first few years of marriage. I told him to shut it if he knew what was good for him.

Okay, I didn't...I'm not mean like that...but, after a few Christmases, staying up 'til the wee hours of the morning putting together toys and wrapping stuff...the wrapping stuff fell by the wayside...in lieu of some precious minutes of sleep.

2. When is your "big" Christmas celebration...Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Tell us about it...

Our big celebration is Christmas Eve...well, both actually!!

But, Christmas Eve wins out on the "marathon-ish-ness" spectacle that it is!

We wake bright and early...well, okay, like 9am (hey! That's bright and early for a night owl like myself!!)...throw on some Christmas tunes and begin the peaceful and serene unwrapping of presents. (And if you believe that, you probably believe that "gullible" is written on the ceiling!!)

After the paper ripping fest at our own home, we head to my parents...surely only after 37,593 phone calls from them pleading, "When are you coming?!!!!" And we proceed to once again, calmly, serenely, peacefully, and quietly open presents. *snort, cough, chuckle, snort again*

Then...yes, there is a then...my mom's side of the family comes over...we stuff our faces, make fun of each other, have a rip roarin' good time of a Christmas Gift exchange game...replete with flying fists and swearing. (Okay, I lied about the swearing and punching...)

We proceed to bundle up our tired, happy and loved kiddos, settle them in bed...and head to Midnight Mass (truly a Midnight Mass here!!!)...it's the best! The quiet, peaceful happiness...the Christmas Carols, the incense. I love it!!

And, Christmas Day, we host Mr. Wonderful's side--40 ++ people, lot's of food...and the traditional "Christmas Story Pageant" put on by the grandchildren!!

3.
Are you big on keeping tradition every year?

Um...yes. See above. We do not veer, swerve or waiver from aforementioned Christmas Eve!!

In fact...Mr. Wonderful and I have a pre-nup. Only thing in it is: "We will attend Christmas Eve with Mama M.'s side".

Okay...I lied again. We don't have a pre-nup. But, peeps don't mess with the Mama's Christmas Eve!!

4. Do colored lights or white lights tickle your fancy?

Oh, gosh...this is a hard one...

So, white lights on our tree are a must. Mainly because...the mish-mash of ornaments is plenty colorful enough...and if you add in colored lights...

Well...let's just say we did that before.

And we don't any more.

End of ugly, gaudy, Mama doesn't know when to leave well enough alone, story.

5. Do you decorate outside your house for Christmas?

We do.

Not much...but this is where some colored lights come into play!! We have three posts outside our home...they get wrapped in garland, colored lights and a big ol' red bow (excessive much?)...

But...but...the creme de la creme of the outside decor...is a ginormous, white light lit (can I say that? White light lit?)...okay, lit with white lights...wreath. It's beautiful.

It makes me feel complete. Like...like when Tom Cruise walks in and Renee Zellweger says "You had me at hello"...yeah...that's how my wreath makes me feel.

It had me at hello.

And that's it.

Amen.

Now...it's your turn!! Jump aboard this crazy festival of fun and see for yourself how much you'll enjoy it!! I'm looking forward to reading your 5QF's!!

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
