Happiness Is...

Blech. I am in a funk.

I'm quite certain I know who's to blame (I'm on to you, Captain...), but still...funk city over here.

Not sure if I wanna cry the whole day or sleep the day away...but I can't do either...so, instead...I'll focus on happiness.

On positivity.

Ahhhhh...positivity...it's what makes the world go 'round! (But that's a whole 'nuther post!)

Happiness is:

~Seeing my children's smiles every morning.

~Having the most amazing husband in the entire world.

~Realizing the laundry isn't as suffocating as I had originally imagined.

~Discovering an untapped 1/2 gallon of Cotton Candy ice cream in the freezer.

~Getting a "first ever" text from my newly "iPhone" acquired mama.

~A nap. A long, deep, much needed nap.

~Ginger Snap cookies...fresh from the oven.

~Enough food to fill our bellies.

~Health.

~Friends. Some of the most amazing, wonderful, beautiful friends to have ever walked the Earth.

~God. He's always with me...I just need to reach out.

~Happiness. (Can I say that? Happiness is Happiness?!)

~An ice cold can of Coke.

~My Baby Girl, reaching her arms up and saying, "I need me!"

~A roof over my head.

~Safety.

~My Grandparents.

~Some pretty durn amazing parents.

~A few totally rockin' brothers.

~My Life.

Wow. I feel better already!

What's your happiness?

  5. Oh do I understand being in a funk.... though I know why mine is upon me.... partially its because I start school again tomorrow... and Mondays and Wednesdays are going to be long days especially Mondays.....

To me happiness is my kids and how they get along or don't get along depending on the moment. ...the roll of paper towels I have in my hand ready to chuck at my son if his thumb goes into his mouth.... ugh.....

The fact that in a few weeks I will really be able to re-discover who I really am without anything to hold me back.... besides said kids.....

  20. Happiness is being Happy and having that happiness with you.

There is a song from "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" called "Happiness" and you made me think of it.

I have two kids and that is my number one right now.

    It would be bliss.

  24. Thank you so much for disclosing your funky mood, then telling us how you got out of it.

As an author on "happiness" I sometimes hestitate to share my "down" moods as if I'm supposed to be "up" all the time. I've learned that readers don't want Ms. Merry Sunshine. They want real people with real problems who figure out how to solve them.

You have much to be grateful for, as do so many of us. We absolutely can't let the blues keep us down and let us forget our blessings.

    Thanks again.

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Crock-Pot Fajitas

You! Yes, YOU!! You must stop whatevertheheck it is that you are doing, and make this recipe. Right now. Tonight. Well...wait. You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte...
