Favorite Wedding Memory!

Welcome to day 4 of the Valentine's Day Extravaganza!

Photobucket

Today we're sharing our favorite memory from our wedding day...

9 years ago today...at this very moment, I was getting ready to walk down the aisle and vow to love, honor, and cherish the love of my life!

Yup...it's true! It's Mr. and Mrs. Wonderful's Anniversary today!! (I love how, when I write our names like that...that I become "Mrs. Wonderful"!!) *cheesy grin*

Wow...I still can't believe it's been 9 years!

So...after the whole engagement story...we decided, "heck...now that we're engaged, let's just make it official!!"...and we planned (oh, who am I kidding...I planned, he showed up...) our wedding in 3 months!

Crazy much?! (That's the Mr., heaving a sigh of relief that this crazy planning is done...and that he's locked me in...he's saying to his buddy Leon, "Whoa...am I one lucky dude, or what, man?"...ahem...or something like that.)

Well...turns out, when you get married in the dead of winter...things fall into place quite easily! No picketing for reception sites, no bribing priests, no fighting for someone to alter your dress...

It was smooth sailing...and for an indecisive chick like myself...having a tight time frame actually made things easier.

I couldn't dwell on the symbolism of gardenias versus hyacinths, or contemplate whether our programs should open landscape style or portrait style and whether the font on them should be Lucinda Grande or Courier.

Nope...I was making rapid fire decisions and not looking back! In fact, I still have a list of what decisions I made on what day (suggested by my gram--that's her on the left, my mama on the right)...and it was pretty much solid planning, right outta the shoot!

But, anywho...back to the wedding.

The marriage.

And my favorite memory.

Can I just say the whole day? 'Cuz it was amazing. Everything went off without a hitch (which, now looking back, kinda bums me out...'cuz it's the "hitches" that make for some fun wedding stories!!)...and it was one heckuva fun day!

Okay, okay, okay...I'll choose!

My favorite part of the day, was probably right before I walked down the aisle with my dad.

Mr. Wonderful and I (oh, who am I kidding again...it was my decision...) decided that it would be so romantic to not see each other prior to the ceremony...so, the first that he saw me (and I saw him) that day, was when I was walking down the aisle.

What an amazing emotion it was! To be on the arm of my dad, about to pledge my love and my life to this amazing man at the other end of the aisle...wow...takes my breath away just remembering it!!

And then there was the reception!! And lemme just say...I come from a family that knows how to throw a party...nope, scratch that...I come from a family that just knows how to party!!

Oh, the dancing and the fun! My new in-laws dancing to a fun song (that I can't, for the life of me, remember...)... Mr. Wonderful gettin' jiggy wit' it and falling right on his side, where he had keys in his pocket (ouch!!), my aunts and uncles partying into the wee hours to Prince, by request, my new BIL teaching me "the window" (or something...)...

And then, there was this:

(That's me...being serenaded the "Sweetheart Song" by the Mr.'s AGR frat brothers!

Sigh...oh, to be able to go back and live that day all over!

It was the beginning of the rest of my life!

I can't wait to hear about YOUR wedding day!

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Crock-Pot Fajitas

You! Yes, YOU!! You must stop whatevertheheck it is that you are doing, and make this recipe. Right now. Tonight. Well...wait. You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
