Five Question Friday! 1/14/11

"...I'm tired and I wanna go to bed...I had a little drink about an hour ago and it went straight to my head..."

After work, one of my buddies and I met a former co-worker for a drink...and had so much fun! So, here I sit, at nearly 2 am, getting my post ready for 5QF. Forgive me if I'm punchy...

Anyone think it's about time for me to take down my Christmas decorations? Yeah, I do too...so, guess what we'll be doing this weekend? Uh huh...exactly!

Alright, let's get down to business!

Welcome to Five Question Friday! An easy, peasy way to start off your weekend...and a fun way to get to know random facts about your fellow bloggers!

Rules for 5QF: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then watch for the linky to appear Friday morning! Oh, and HAVE FUN!!

Questions for Friday, January 14th: (Special thanks to Sharaya, Kate, Deanna, @trooppetrie,@ChelsVandy for their question suggestions! Wanna be linked in a future 5QF? Bring your awesome question suggestions to my community, or shout 'em out to me on Twitter [@5crookedhalos]!!)

1. What movie could you watch over and over again and not get tired of?

2. What's your biggest pet peeve right now?

3. If you had to describe your best friend in five words or less, what would you say?

4. If you did not have to worry about money or go to school what would you do for a living?

5. What is your one "splurge" item, that you will always buy, no matter the cost?

------------------------------------------------

1. What movie could you watch over and over again and not get tired of?

Ohmigosh. Had you asked me this question six months ago, I probably would've said something like, "Hope Floats"...or "The Notebook" (even tho' I've never seen it...)...or "The Last Boy Scout" (okay, so that would've been my answer about 20 years ago...but still....).

However, there's a new movie in town.

If you follow me on Twitter, you probably know exactly what I'm gonna say.

Yup..."Pride and Prejudice".

*snort*

Okay, I'm kidding. (Told ya, I'm gonna be punchy...)

Hands down, without a doubt in the world, the movie that I can currently watch over and over and over again and still laugh my pants off is:

"Despicable Me"

Seriously, have you seen it?! Hands down, the greatest movie EVER. Laugh out loud funny...fart jokes, old jokes, warm your heart goodness that'll make you smile from ear to ear...

And laugh until you pee your pants.

Wait. Maybe that last part was just me.

Anyway, you MUST see it. Pronto!

2. What's your biggest pet peeve right now?

Negativity. Pure, and simple...negativity. In myself and in others.

I think I get more disgusted with myself, because I know that I am the only person that I can change, so it bothers me when negativity creeps in.

I'm generally a pretty positive person...so I want to bang my head against the wall when I hear myself complain.

Ugh.

Yes, negativity.

And arrogant people. But that's a story for another day. ;)

3. If you had to describe your best friend in five words or less, what would you say?

Awwww...is there anything better than best friends?

Gosh...I'm not sure which best friend I should describe!!

I'm gonna go with my bestie...The Unkept Cook (no idea why I refered to her by her "pseudo blog name" since she hasn't blogged in nearly a year...), 'cuz we're goin' on a girl's night pretty dang soon and I'm TOTALLY looking forward to it!

Okay...5 words:

1. Fabulous
2. Wise
3. Fun
4. Beautiful
5. Loyal

Love ya, T.!!

4. If you did not have to worry about money or go to school what would you do for a living?

If you've been reading my blog for any amount of time, you can probably guess what I'm going to say here:

"Stay at Home mom". The hardest, most rewarding, low paying job in exisitence.

At the very least, I'd get to be my own boss!

There is nothing more important to me that being a great mom to my kids...and I'll say it once again...

I think more women should stay at home. Or one parent. (Now, before you crucify me...remember...I WORK OUTSIDE THE HOME!!!)

I realize that some people (us) have to have both parents work outside the home...but I firmly believe that it is in our kids' best interest to have a parent home with them at all times.

Until then...thank goodness for fabulous day care providers!! (That's a shout out to you, D.!!)

5. What is your one "splurge" item, that you will always buy, no matter the cost?

There are a few things that I don't pay attention to the price when I buy them...vinegar, milk, potatoes...but the biggest thing?

Regardless of cost?

My "purple package" Cottonelle.

Whatever it takes, I must have it. Even if it means working an extra shift at work.

Okay, I'm kidding about the extra shift...but, I've gotta have it. We can go without milk...but we can't run out of Cottonelle.

Or Heinz ketchup.

We could have nothing else to eat in the house, but you can rest assured that we will have plenty of Heinz ketchup...

My world would end if we ran out of Heinz ketchup.

----------------------------------------

Well, did you suffer through it? My "punchiness"? I'm tired...and I wanna go home. Wait...I already said that. At the top...I already said that.

Gah! Nevermind!! Have a fabulous weekend! I'm hoping to get around to as many of your posts as I can...since I actually have the weekend off! Enjoy!

  2. Hmmm.... maybe I should take down my Christmas decorations this weekend. But they look so festive!

You chose one of my questions.... yay! :)

  3. I don't know if the world would end, but my marriage surely would if we ran out of Heinz ketchup!

  4. Funny - Baby Girl was just telling me yesterday about something from 'Bickable Me'. She was laughing so I was having a hard time understanding what part she was talking about - that and the fact that we haven't seen it yet! I know, my kids must be deprived...

  5. I haven't took down my Christmas decorations yet as well. It just one of those jobs I hate. I guess I better get them down this weekend, I think it's bugging my hubby.

I just wanted to stop by and say hi! I always enjoy your blog and love the blog hop (it's one of my favourites)!

Take care and have a fabulous weekend!

  7. You make me laugh...every time I come here....

You are such a fun person.

I liked your answers. And I too wish that kids could at least have one parent home with them. But I know it is not possible in so many situations.

I hate to run out of bath tissue too. And we have our favorite kind too.

My tree and decorations are still up too. I started taking them down yesterday...but it isn't a fun job!

Have a good weekend Mama M!

  8. My husband is obsessed with ketchup like that. We have to have "emergency" ketchup bottles just in case the one in the fridge runs out at any given time! There are certain foods he will NOT eat without it!

  9. I might want to change my biggest pet peeve answer now. I am with you on the negativity. especially when it comes from people who moan about their lives all day long and then do nothing to change it.

  10. Hiya Punchy Mama M!

I LURVE all your answers, as per usual! ;)

I also DETEST negativity, and have been experiencing A LOT of it from a certain sister-in-law and one of my colleagues! :( I've made an effort to steer myself away from negative people this year! I don't want to spend time on people who zap my energy and positivity!!

I also hate arrogant people ( like said SIL! ;P) For example, I can't be bothered with all that attitude and holier-than-thou arrogance that many people portray on Facebook. It's a big turn-off!!

On a positive note (cos we hate negativity, right!?), it sounds like your BFF is very similar to mine! :)

    Have a great weekend!

  11. YOURE SO FLUFFYYYYYYYYYYY! I love, love, love that movie! Made my face hurt from smiling so much.
I can't believe anyone still has their Christmas stuff up..I never got it out this year so I can't say much...but girl it's almost February...! lol

  12. I can't wait to see Dispicable Me. Maybe I'll rent it right after I get my Christmas stuff taken down this weekend, too, LOL! I always do the Homer Simpson "Doh!" forehead smack after I read your answers. I hate negativity, too, and I'd love to be a SAHM with plenty of time to dedicate not only to my kiddoes but to volunteer work in the community as well. I think I get the "blue package" Cottonelle, but that's only if it's on sale and/or I have a coupon! Enjoy your weekend off.

  13. NO ONE else can make ketchup right!

  14. I haven't seen Despicable Me yet. But I am going to have too soon, because I've heard great things about it!

Yay, I think it's time to take the decorations down. But it's a lot of work and sometimes you just have to put it off. I completely understand.
Have a wonderful weekend off! Enjoy!

  15. Don't feel bad about your Christmas decorations! My husband says that I didn't take mine down until March last year (although, I don't recall this). I did good this year. I put them away last week! It's much more fun to put them up than it is to take them down.

  16. didn't even think about my TP. I try to buy it on sale if I can but its got to be good stuff. OH and my mac n cheeese, only the blue box will do.

  17. like that song :) :)

I really think I must have made a mistake when I went to see Despicable Me - my daughter lives in Auckland, New Zealand (we live in the Hawkes Bay). We went up to see her in September. She was working in the movies so we got very cheap seats. I didnt think much of this movie so decided after a while to go and look around the shopping centre. I was told by my daughter and son that if Id just waited another 10 minutes or so I would have enjoyed the movie. I did enjoy looking around though :) :)

negativity can be a real turn off :)

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Crock-Pot Fajitas

You! Yes, YOU!! You must stop whatevertheheck it is that you are doing, and make this recipe. Right now. Tonight. Well...wait. You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
