Can We Talk Pinterest?

Just for a sec...will you humor me, and let me talk at you about Pinterest? Pinterest and, we get along all right, I giggle and sigh and dream and plan whenever I go on Pinterest. I can get lost for hours, in the idyllic, perfect world that is Pinterest. Sure, I feel inadequate most of the time but sometimes, I feel thrilled (when I see something from my blog that was pinned!) but then. Ohhhhhhh dear friends, BUT THEN. Then I stumble upon a fabulous idea. An "oooooooh, I ACTUALLY want to TRY that idea" idea. So, I click. And what happens? I get taken to an image page. Or the main page of a years old blog that no way in heck am I ever gonna find what I was looking for. Today, I even found something new...I was taken to a blog that was nothing but "popular" pins and found myself going round and round. Click on photo in Pinterest, taken to blog about nothing, but says "click here for source" and I'd click and be taken right back to Pinterest...

This...

We're gonna be doing a lot of this: In the coming weeks! Can NOT tell you how excited I am for late mornings and even later nights. For perfect s'mores roasted by my patient husband. Looking very  forward to sun-kissed skin, tired kids, and busy days. Three more hours of school tomorrow and then...HELLO SUMMER!!!!!!

In the Kitchen with Gram...Tiramisu!

Once upon a time, in a far away land, in a far away kingdom...my Gram made me homemade tiramisu. The end. (How's that for a story?) It was heaven. On plate. To be eaten with a fork. Without or without a crown on. I had recently discovered tiramisu at some Italian place and fell head over heels in love with it. The recipe that follows is what I believe to be a combination of several recipes that my Gram used to come up with this one. This perfect one. And if you follow it in order, you only need one mixing bowl...and you don't need to wash it out in between steps! Fabulous. Alright...first, you've gotta whip your (room temp) whites: When they start to look frothy, like in the photo above, add the cream of tartar and the powdered sugar and beat until stiff peaks form. This stage seemed similar to the consistency of shaving cream, to me. Plop it in a bowl and toss it in the fridge to keep cool. Next up...the whipping cream. (Side note: Did you kno...

Holy Moly

I couldn't possibly let this blog go for two whole days without a post, so this is what you'll get for today...randomness? If it rains anymore around here, we'll all be underwater. No snow during the winter and so much rain in the last few days that if we converted it to snow measurements, we'd be under at least 6 FEET of snow. Sure is green when it's sunny, tho... Baby got an umbrella from my Gram...you'd've thought she won the lottery! In fact, she's sleeping with it right now. We've been watching The Pioneer Woman's Food Network show on my iPad (love that I can buy episodes off iTunes!) and I made her Cherry Limeade yesterday. Let me just tell you that it tastes EXACTLY like Sonic's. Soooooooo incredibly delicious...I spy, with my little eye our staple summer drink. So, did y'all know I have Menier's disease? A few years ago I received a "soft" diagnosis...not officially official, but I had 4 out of 4 symptoms, ...

Idiocy

Angry. So blown away by the new level of idiocy that my eyes were opened to today. Stand forewarned...if you feel that DWI/DUI's are unfair, this is NOT the post for you. I may swear. Forgive me...my mama bear is coming out. So today, I hung out with my parents on the river while Mr. Wonderful had the younger 4 camping and Pal was hanging with his girlfriend's family. It was a beautiful day and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. On the way home, we found ourselves at some acquaintances/friends of my parents. Extremely generous people who are way too kind and welcome everyone off the river to their place for food and drink. (Personally, I got "we're kind of annoyed" vibes, but whatev...) My mom and I and her friend were standing around the fire that was being tended to by a neighbor. We girls were talking and somehow (I don't really remember what brought it up) this jackass tending the fire starts talking about DUI's. He's had 3.  Classy guy, huh?...

Five Question Friday!! 5/25/12

If April showers bring May flowers, do May monsoons bring...um...beautiful Junes? If so, we are in for one heckuva gorgeous June! Dudes...I think maybe Minnesota is having an identity crisis and thinks it's Washington State. Rain. Rain and rain and rain and then more rain. Well...word on the street is that we needed it, so, you know, I guess... fine. I'll let it slide this time. But once school is out? It must only rain at night and the days must only be filled with glorious sunshine, zero humidity, and 80 degree days. I'll let you know how that goes. Anywhoodles...onto the party! Welcome to Five Question Friday!! You've come to the right place if you want a fun, easy post or if you've suddenly discovered your muses are pouting because they have to work 4  whole days in a row . Rules for 5 QF :  Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then watch for the  linky  post to appear Friday morning and LINK UP! Oh, an...
