Five Question Friday! 3/18/11

FRIIIIIIDDDAAAAAYYYYYY!!!! Yee HAW!!

Today marks the first of five whole days with my whole entire family! FIVE DAYS STRAIGHT! I can't wait. We're gonna watch movies and make cookies and dance and sing Kumbaya. Or, maybe we'll just all sleep in til noon everyday and eat Fruit Loops and Apple Jacks for every meal.

Regardless...it'll be grand. FIVE DAYS!

Okay...so, I'm tarred...as in "tired"...just thought, since I've already tossed in a Southern "Yee HAW!!" that I'd throw some more Southern atcha. Imagine, if you will, what I've just thrown at you...a MinneSOOOOtan with a Southern accent.

Ooooooh MAH gawd, dontcha know how crazy that'd sound?! (PS...check out this clip of Taylor Swift immitating me, I mean, a MinneSOOOOta soccer mom...HEE-larious!)

Let's get 5QF goin'!!

Rules for 5QF: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then watch for the linky to appear Friday morning! And the biggest rule of all?! HAVE FUN!!

Questions for Friday, March 18th: (Special thanks to @joleneslavik, @sarahruch,@HeartHunnyBe, Pam, and Colleen for their question suggestions! If you would like to be linked in a future 5QF, come over to my community and offer up your best question suggestions! And please do...things are getting slim over there! Shouting them out on twitter is fine, too! @5crookedhalos)

1. Have you ever testified in court? For what?

2. Do you still have your wedding dress?

3. Is there a special place you like to go when you're happy, sad, stressed, etc.?

4. If you have kids, do they sleep with you? If you don't have kids...will you let your kids sleep with you when/if you have them?

5. Do you watch late night TV?

-----------------------------------------

1. Have you ever testified in court? For what?

GAH! Okay, so...guess what's gonna happen if I answer this question?

Yeah...the County DA's office will contact me on Monday telling me my number's up and I need to report for jury duty.

Ugh...do you really want that on your head? Knowing that YOU were the reason I had to do jury duty.

Oh...wait. Time out.

"TESTIFIED"...not the same as jury duty. Nevermind...sometimes my blonde gets in the way.

So...final answer, NO.

Never testified. That's scary stuff.

2. Do you still have your wedding dress?

Yupper, I do!! And, I'm such a fabulous care taker of my dress that I haven't even gotten it cleaned.

That's right...10 years later and you can still smell the beer that the hem of my dressed soaked up off the floor. *Sigh*...oh, the sentimental value in that beer smell.

Actually, over the past 10 years, every time I thought about taking it to the cleaners, I would dream up something better to spend that hundred bucks on...like new clothes for Spring...or a cute new pair of shoes...or some summer clothes for the kids...or some cute new shoes...or a new pair of capris...or some cute new shoes...

Well, you get the idea.

Yes, I still have my dress.

Now, just don't ask me if I still fit into it...

3. Is there a special place you like to go when you're happy, sad, stressed, etc.?

All good emotions I'm just fine with continuing on about my day. I like being happy...life is good then.

Bad emotions? Then I want my bed...and peace and quiet. And a good, long, uninterrupted sleep.

Or, a hefty bank account and a day at the mall.

Either one will usually lift my mood just fine...especially if the latter involves the purchase of a new pair of cute shoes.

4. If you have kids, do they sleep with you? If you don't have kids...will you let your kids sleep with you when/if you have them?

I'm in the former group...and yes. They do.

Well...three of my five do.

The Pal? He doesn't. He used to, then he reached an age that it just wasn't so cool anymore, and he stopped.

Which totally validated and solidified my theory that kids will eventually migrate to their own beds. E.W however? He has ALWAYS liked to sleep alone.

Even when he's sick...he just wants his own bed. Guess he takes after his mama!

5. Do you watch late night TV?

Er. No.

I don't watch early morning TV or mid afternoon TV or evening TV either. You see...it takes having some sort of cable/satellite network to facilitate in the watching of said TV...and we've got nothin'.

Nothin' but DVD's and Xboxes and Wii's. And, sure...so I could probably subscribe to Netflix and watch some late night TV (hmmmm...could I?), but it wouldn't be the same. (Or would it?)

Nah.

-----------------------------------------

I hope you all have fabulous weekends!! I'm hoping to get around to reading some more 5QF posts this week! I enjoy them!!

  4. Love the wedding dress! I hear alot of that which makes me glad I rented mine.

and I long/dream for the days when I don't have cable. I know its a "choice" but the choice is my hubby and I, we like out TV dramas, and couch time after a long day at work.

  7. If it hadn't been for my mom getting my dress cleaned, mine wouldn't be either. Don't know that it will ever get used again, but maybe we'll get it out to look at one day.

  9. No comment on the wedding gown cleaning business...then again, maybe my SIL cleaned it after she used it. I'm right there with you on the bed sanctuary bit. Enjoy your 5 days with your family. Either option: baking, singing, etc OR sleeping til noon and eating sweet cereal for every meal sounds good to me!

  13. Your responses had me laughing. I was a bit sad when my 14 year old becan to care less about sleeping with me when her dad's out of town. I'm over that now and enjoy that we don't have to deal with the 10 minute argument of who's turn it is! The little one promises me she'll never ditch me...we'll see!

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Crock-Pot Fajitas

You! Yes, YOU!! You must stop whatevertheheck it is that you are doing, and make this recipe. Right now. Tonight. Well...wait. You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte...
