Seriously, I'm afraid I'm going to wake up tomorrow and be 90. (This is totally like "Spy Kids"...Tick Tock and the Timekeeper are messing with our time! Gah. Clearly I watched that movie one too many times.)

1. Shoes in the house - yay or nay?

2. What do you call them- flip flops, slippers, thongs, etc?

3. What song are you almost embarrassed to admit you know all the lyrics to?

4. What is the best quality to have in a friend?

5. Do you know what you want for Christmas?

--------------------------------------------------

1. Shoes in the house - yay or nay?

Well, it totally depends, but for the most part, I don't really give a hoot. Unless 1.) you have poop on your shoes or 2.) you have poop on your shoes.

Then? Shoes off.

Honestly, I oftentimes wear my shoes (i.e. flip flops) in the house. Let me explain why...

Our driveway is about a 1/4 of a mile long. And, 98.85% of that driveway is unpaved. Why do I tell you this? Well, because entire dump trucks full of our driveway get brought in on the feet (shoes? Hey, maybe I should say "nay" to this...) of our family.

And then I end up walking on our kitchen floor and having sand stuck to the bottom of my feet, so I wear my shoes to save my sanity. Me + sandy feet = crazy in the brain.

2. What do you call them- flip flops, slippers, thongs, etc?

See above? That part where I say "flip flops"?

There it is.

My FIL teases my kids and calls them "shower shoes". As in, "What the heck are you wearing your shower shoes out in public for?!"

For his birthday this year, we went out and bought him a pair of flip flops of his very own. I think he was simultaneously mortified and humored!

My FIL isn't really a flip flop kinda guy!

Occasionally, if I'm trying to be cute and silly, I'll call them "flippy floppies"...which is what I heard a ValleyFair dude call them once and apparently there is a SNL skit about a song that says "flippy floppies" in it?

Anyway. Flip to the flop, babe.

3. What song are you almost embarrassed to admit you know all the lyrics to?

Oh dear. There are so many.

There's this:

"All I wanna do is zooma zoom zoom zoom and a boom boom...just shake ya rump..."

And there's:

"All right stop, collaborate and listen. Ice is back with my brand new invention. Flow like harpoon daily and nightly..." (Someone, please. Tell me what this means? Flow like a harpoon? And what on earth is this invention that he's talking about?!")

And we can't forget:

"Here I go, here I go, here I go again. Girl's what's your weakness? MEN! Okay then, chillin', chillin' mindin' my buisness..."

Oh yes. I AM a child of the 90's. (And, the 80's. Have you seen this?)

4. What is the best quality to have in a friend?

Without a doubt, loyalty. Someone that will have your back no matter what.

I'm lucky to have a few of these wonderful friends in my life, and they mean the world to me. To know that they won't "throw you under the bus" in a sticky situation...that they'll stand by your side and stand firm!

5. Do you know what you want for Christmas?

I do.

Only, it's crazy ridiculously expensive, so I know I'll just end up asking for gift cards and save up for it...

Are you ready?

Let's see if you can guess what it is.

I'll give you a hint. It starts with an "i" and ends with a "Pad".

I want. Much. When they first came out I was all "meh...it's just a giant iPhone/iPod". But now? Now I see how fun and convenient and wonderful and did I mention "fun" they are! My oldest son's school is "giving" (loaning?) each child an iPad starting this year.

I think I need to go back to high school. (I want an iPad!!)

Oh, and I also want world peace...and to end childhood hunger. (There. Does that make me sound less selfish?) ;)

--------------------------------------------

I hope you all enjoy your holiday weekend! Even you peeps that don't live in the US...enjoy your weekend!

I have never heard of anyong calling them thongs though? Nothing better than flip flops.. prob the reason I am most upset to see summer go :( Have a great weekend girlie!

  6. I have to tell you, I used to think the same thing about the iPad, because I had an iPhone, I just didn't see the difference. Then I had a chance to enter a giveaway for one, and I WON! I am in love. It is awesome!!

I can't believe they are giving them to students! That's crazy!!

  12. OMG! I found this on another blog, then linked up to you after I had already written the answers to your questions...my song was Ice Ice Baby also. Weird. Showing our age? Or youth? LOL.
Also, I used to be totally "anti" Apple products...not sure why... I should've added that I want an iMac also for Christmas. Not an iPad, but a desktop. Mostly because I don't really have a use for the iPad just yet. Maybe later? I love my iPhone though...

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
