1. If you had the opportunity to bungee jump, would you?

2. Would you rather go to the movie theater or to the drive-in?

3. Do you have your groceries delivered?

4. Eyebrows: Do you wax, thread, pluck, or stay au naturel?

5. Would the people you went to high school with be surprised by your life today?

--------------------------------------------

1. If you had the opportunity to bungee jump, would you?

Heck no!!

Ohmigosh. My heart is racing just thinking about it!

20 years and 5 kids ago, I might've said yes, but heck! Just getting on a plane is enough to make me stroke out! Much less, strapping a giant rubber band to my ankles and plunging, willfully, to what is certain to be my demise.

Ugh. Vomit.

2. Would you rather go to the movie theater or to the drive-in?

That, is a fabulous question! So, one of my best friends' family owns a near by-ish drive-in, so I sort of feel partial to drive-in's by virtue of loyalty...however, after last week's trek to the drive-in, I dunno.

See, I don't much care for bugs.

Also, I couldn't hear...the kids were hogging the speakers.

Then, there was the whole "3 year old distracted by being outside watching a movie and not wanting to sit still" thing.

So, she and I went to the van. Where I tuned into the "movie radio" station, sat in a somewhat climate controlled and bug-free environment and THEN I enjoyed myself!

Found out, tho, that drive-ins may become a thing of the past. :( Apparently, in a couple of years, all movies will be going strictly digital. Drive-ins use film and something about a dust-free booth to run the new machines and not being cost effective and/or feasible will put most drive-ins out of business.

There's something about that that makes me very sad!

3. Do you have your groceries delivered?

I don't.

However, perhaps that would help me with my problem. See, I've gotten into a very bad habit.

Somewhere around child number 4 or 5 I developed an aversion to grocery shopping with children. So, I started to go in the evening, when the Mr. was home and I could do it sans children.

Then, the Pal turned 13 or 14 and was legally old enough to sit with the kids in the van while I ran inside...and since I was running inside with 5 kids in my vehicle, my trips are short and sweet.

And filled with things I don't need. "Oh, Almond Joy bites? YES, we MUST HAVE those!" "Oh, summertime plates and cups? I've ALWAYS wanted those!" "OH MY! Look at the adorable little bottles of pop! MUST. HAVE."

You see the problem? Needless spending.

Need a new plan.

Perhaps having my groceries delivered will be life changing?! (If only for the fresh milk and bread...)

4. Eyebrows: Do you wax, thread, pluck, or stay au naturel?

Well, au naturale makes me look like I have a blond catepillar on my forehead. I. am. hairy.

Thank you God, and Scandanavian ancestors, for the blond hair.

However, there isn't much I love (in a beauty sense) more than some perfectly groomed eyebrows. I've been waxed (both strips and non-strip) and sugared and every. stinkin'. time. that I get my brows done, my skin IMMEDIATELY turns an unbelievable shade of red and I break out.

Horribly.

And I look like a monster (with GREAT brows!!) for a good 7-10 days after ward, at which point my catepillar has started to regenerate.

I think I need laser treatment. Nothing drastic. But I've heard that doesn't work with blond hair.

Great.

5. Would the people you went to high school with be surprised by your life today?

That's a good question. I would say no.

I was always a "kid person" when I was younger, so while I'm sure most of my classmates wouldn't have guessed I'd have 5 kids, most of them would probably assume I'd have at least a few.

And the nurse part? Well, that idea came after high school. So, I guess, my classmates could potentially be surprised that my Dairy Queen ambitions didn't come to fruition.

They'd probably be most surprised that I ended up with my "good ol' boy" Mr. Wonderful and am spending my days living out life in the country, rather than in a cookie-cutter house in suburbia. THAT'S prolly what would get them the most!

------------------------------------------

Well, I hope you all have a FABULOUS holiday weekend! Enjoy!

  2. I said NO to the bungee jumping too---I don't think I would have even considered it pre-the lovelies! Just call me a big 'ol chicken...really! I'm good with that! LOL

  3. HEY!!! I have scandinavian ancestry too!!! See...we're destined to be great friends. :) And no, blond hair doesn't work for laser removal. The one and only time I wished I was greek. But then, I'd have a CRAZY high laser treatment bill....so I think I'll exclaim "ofta!" and be done with it. :)

  4. I've heard the same thing about laser treatments not working on blondes. I think this is the first thing which has given an advantage to us brunettes.

So sad about the drive-ins....but I haven't been to one in probably 25 years so I'm not sure why this makes me feel anything.

Thanks for setting up the Five Question Friday, it really is super fun to do.

    Have a great Fourth!

  7. Happy 4th of July! I always wondered about the benefits of grocery delivery too... I love supermarkets, love cruising down the aisles, love buying unnecessary stuff. (sigh)

And yeah, my skin doesn't take eyebrow waxing very well. I have sensitive skin, and there was one time when I did have it waxed, and it didn't just take out my hair roots and all... it took basically my skin out too. REALLY SCARY.

  8. On our news last night they were talking about an eyebrow procedure called "threading" It looked painless and easy. Maybe they would have that where you are at.

  9. That is the one thing I love about online grocery shopping is that I won't impulse buy :)

  10. Missed the link up this Friday....but it is Canada Day holiday for us here in the Great White North, so hopefully am forgiven. When we go to our camp in the summer, the anchor the big pontoon boat out in the water, put a big white sheet and project a movie on it. We all sit on the beach with our snacks, cuddle under some blankets....sometimes the kids fall asleep, some times they stay awake....it's great fun!
Happy early July 4th to you too!

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte...
