What Every Girl Needs...

Y'all are going to be sick and tired of Mexico posts soon...sorry!

Anyway, my bestie came along to Mexico with us..she was in need of a vacation...and we had a vacation that was shaping up to be plenty of fun! She called herself a "wedding crasher", I called her a "bonus"...turns out, she ended up being more of my "personal assistant (attendant?)"!

I have since declared, every girl needs her own personal assistant for a wedding.

The plan was always that she was going to do my hair. She sorta rocks that way.

And, she didn't disappoint...I've gotta say, I had a Pintrest inspired vision, and she pretty much nailed it! (Unfortunately, these photos were taken AFTER much activity...and an epic, slobbery, Mama meltdown...)

Oh, WAIT! I found a couple that were "pre-meltdown"!!
(Forgive the grumpy face...the sun was in my eyes...I promise I wasn't grumpy!)

Nailed it to the point that I had a complete stranger, clad in a bikini, come up to me poolside before the wedding and ask to take pictures of my hair! From all sides.

Oh, but it didn't stop there...in fact, the hair was just the beginning!

Turns out, on my way up to the bride's room, I tossed my camera bag over my shoulder and whacked out my neck/shoulder/back/something-or-other. By the time I made it to the room, I was in pain, and it only got worse as time went on. :(

I quickly asked T. if she would take pics with my camera for me...and then pawned off my bag on one person or another. Between the hubs, T. and my aunt, someone was massaging my shoulder, neck, back area after the wedding.

Enter, wedding pics. And a certain bridesmaid that was having a hard time turning her head...to which my lovely assistant (attendant?) declared she'd run and grab me some ibuprofen! It was at this point that someone pointed out, "Wow...M. brought her own assistant!"

I seriously don't know what I would've done without her!

And all she wanted for payment?

Was a blogpost about her awesomeness...

And me? All paid up now. ;)

Thanks T.! You are the best assistant friend a girl could ever ask for!

  1. Gotta love a bestie! I'm in the middle of planning a trip with my 3 besties (since we were 7 years old) for our 40th birthdays this year. We'll all have to "assist" each other! :) Lucky women, we are, to have such wonderful best friends!

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte...
