Mama + Caffeine = No Good

Yesterday, at work...I had a Pepsi with my supper...and, I totally splurged and got an Iced Coffee on the way to work.

It was disgusting.

But, apparently...all that caffeine did a number on me. BIG time!

Insomnia city, dude! I couldn't sleep if my life depended on it!

It's a good thing my life didn't depend on it. Phew!!

So, anywho...I was laying there in bed at 3 am...wide awake, willing myself to sleep...and thinking.

Thinking and thinking...and man, did I come up with some fabulous blog posts!

They were great!

Awesome!

Genius!

You would all applaud me and pat me on the back and PR firms would start contacting me because I was so brilliant, I'd probably get book deals.

And then I fell asleep.

And, guess what?

I can't remember them.

For the life of me...I can not remember what was so brilliant and genius and back pattingly worthy.

Ugh.

  1. I came up with some pretty good blog posts at 3am too last night. I, however, do remember at least one of them that I will post tonight or tomorrow morning :)

  8. That happens to me so much. I'll be there, laying all comfy, just waiting to go to sleep. End up writing this fabulous blog in my head & just before I finish it I'm out. Wake up in the morning & I've got nothing. I can't even remember the basic idea for it. I really should keep a notebook & pencil on the nightstand

  9. I feel your pain. Unfortunately, most of my best ideas come to me in the shower. Not particularly notepad-friendly in there.

I wonder if I could put a Post-it pad on the far wall of the shower... :P

  10. I am so jealous that you drank a Pepsi! I have craved an ice cold can of Pepsi more than anything else during my pregnancy.... I would possibly kill for one! Sorry about your caffeine buzz.... I was addicted before I got preggo. :)

  11. Ugh.......... I hate that!! I have a little notepad that I keep out to jot things down and I have an iPhone that is always on me. But its is those nights when you are trying to fall asleep or wake up and can not go back that you come up with the best ideas! Maybe I need to leave the note pad next to my bed!

Hope these ideas come back to you!

I love coffee but I can drink it right before bed and pass out!!

  13. That happens to me all the time! I will be sitting at work, and the best post ever will come to me, and for the life of me I won't remember. Drives me crazy.

  14. LOL! That's the story of my life! I have to cut out caffeine by dinner time or I'll never sleep.

  15. I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't handle caffeine. I wonder why that is, one day you're downing anything with caffeine without a thought, the next you can't handle a drop. Why the sudden switch?

  16. bwhahaha! this is exactly why I am NOT allowed to have caffeine!
i crash and burn but am on a creative tear while wired. then..nothing.
happens all the time and I never seem to think to write anything down! go figure.

  18. I hate when that happens! That's why I only blog once a month, I think of all these great things to say before bed and wake up to an empty mind. Boo!

  19. Don't you just hate it when that happens! Ugh is right! :)

  20. Happens to me all the time. I am learning that at my age, if I don't write it down there's no promise that it will still be there later. ;)

Of course maybe you could do a repeat of the caffeine today and maybe the ideas will return tonight. Ha!

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
