My Little Life

Holy smokes! I woke up today with a headache in my right eye.

Wait...that'd be an eyeache...and I realized...HOLY I'VE GOT CHRISTMAS SHOPPING TO DO BATMAN!!!!! So, Mama's gotta get a move on!

But, that's neither here nor there.

What is here and there, is that it is time for Five Question Friday!! (Say that with your best game show host(ess) voice!)

If you don't have a blog, but are dying to answer the questions...just leave your answers in the comments below! I would love, love, love it, if you'd link back to me, Mama M.!

And...we're off!

Questions for Friday, December 4th: (Special thanks to the following for their question suggestions this week!! Liz, Rhonda, Heidi, and Kimberly! If you have an awesome question suggestion, check out the thread in my community!)

1.
Favorite gift you are GIVING this year?

2. How many parties are you attending between now and Christmas?

3. What is your favorite Christmas song?

4. Who was your favorite elementary school teacher and why?

5. If you had a choice to live in any other period of time (other than now) what era would you choose and why?

----------------------------------------------

1. Favorite gift you are GIVING this year?

Well, actually, Santa is giving it...but, they are stuffed animals with a hot pack in their tummies!! You open their belly, take out the hot pack, heat it in the microwave, and voila!

Warm, snuggly little something to curl up with!

My two girls had them...and loved them (awesome for tummy aches, ear aches, extra comfort...), and my boys wanted one...well...'cept the teenager, who I think is gonna get coal for Christmas (geepers...and he promised me he wouldn't be a crabby teenager...looks like Mama's gonna hafta get tough.).

I found some different ones this year...the hot pack is heart shaped (so, yes...you open their abdominal cavity and rip out their heart...must be the nurse in me that thinks this is totally awesome!).

And...I'm stay tuned...'cuz I just might be giving one away!!

2. How many parties are you attending between now and Christmas?

Um, well...one, I guess!

I'm gonna go to MckMama's Christmas gathering in a coupla week...looking forward to meeting some other MinneSOOOta mommy bloggers!!

But, that's it.

How boring is that?!!

3. What is your favorite Christmas song?

Oh my...I love...no lurve Christmas music!

Remember this post? Yeah...that's one of my favorite songs!

But...my other favorite Christmas song at the moment? Sheryl Crow's Merry Christmas, Baby (she's got The Boss beat by a long shot!! Don't watch the weird little video...just listen to the song!)...I love it! It's a fun little ditty that makes me get my jive on!

4. Who was your favorite elementary school teacher and why?

Oh, definitely my kindergarten teacher! Mrs. L. She was so kind and compassionate and sweet!

My first grade teacher was awesome too, Mrs. M.

I was a sad first grader...I didn't like the whole all day, everyday routine, and I shed a few...okay, a lot, of tears! I vividly remember her one day, taking me by the hand, and letting me walk out to her car with her to get some supplies...it made me feel just a little special, a little loved, a lot comforted, when all I wanted was to just go home and be with my mama!

5. If you had a choice to live in any other period of time (other than now) what era would you choose and why?

Oh, I think about this a lot!! But, I never come up with any fun answers...mainly 'cuz someone usually bursts my bubble with something negative about that era!

Sometimes, I think...how fun would it have been to been discovering things. Like, bananas and oranges! Weird, I know...but think about it!!

Just think about it!

I'll give you a little visual...you are walking through the forest...dressed only in a coconut bra (which you had previously discovered and were amazed with the lift and separate qualities you now sported...) and a loin cloth...you come upon a tree dripping with orange spherical things...curious, you grab one and bite into it...the skin and it's nastyness makes you shudder a bit...but you realize there is a delectable, juicy fruit in the middle...you peel the skin off, enjoy the flesh of the orange...then go home and use your microplaner to get the zest from the orange, and throw a batch of orange rolls into your oven.

Oh...wait...I think I just combined a coupla eras...sorry.

Well...there you go!! Dem's da answers!! Looking forward to reading yours!!

  4. I set up everything on my blog and then remembered that my daughters read my blog on occasion and it is connected to my facebook page.. So I will have to answer the questions here.
    1. My favorite gift I am giving this year. I am totally stoked about this. We are a moving watching family.Nothing like a bowl of fresh popped popcorn and grape kool-aid. I have search high and low for my daughters favorite movies growing up. I found them each one of their favorites.they will now be able to watch it with their daughters.
Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band is one and the other is Watcher in the Woods. What is great about these movies is they are rated PG but are still really good.

    2. I will be going to 2 parties. 1 of my own and the other with my husbands family.

    3. Jinglebell Rock it is old but always gets me going.

4.My favorite teacher in elemetary school was my 5tha nd 6th grade teacher. I grew up in the mountains in Colorado. We had a small school. So 1 teacher taught 2 grades.(okay I am old) Mr Fitzgerald was awesome. He taught us it was easy to learn and it was fun to learn.

5 If I could live in any other time period it would be the time when we didn't have so many medicines to take all the time for whatever was wrong with you. Oh wait I was already in some of that time. Then the present is good for me.

  7. Fun for you to go to MckMama's party. I love your #1 answer. I couldn't post my #1 since my mom reads. I'm giving her a digital picture key chain. She lives 3 states away and we only see her once a year. So I figured this way she could always have her grandkids near her.

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Crock-Pot Fajitas

You! Yes, YOU!! You must stop whatevertheheck it is that you are doing, and make this recipe. Right now. Tonight. Well...wait. You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
