IHOP...Deliciousness in Your Very Own Cupboard!

Before I start, can I just interject something here? Wait, why am I asking? Who's actually going to interrupt my blog post to say, "NO! You can't interject!"?

Anyway, in recent years I have become an Apple product junkie, and I have a very hard time NOT writing "IHOP" like "iHop".

Okay, interjection over.

My husband and I are big believers in the adage, "The family that eats together, stays together." I know, I know, not quite the same ring as "prays together, stays together", but it's so true! Family meals are at the very top of our priority list, so when BlogHer and IHOP at Home® (big 'I' mama, big 'I') gave me the opportunity to incorporate a family meal with trying out the new IHOP at Home Syrup, I said "Heck yeah!"!

Anyone who knows me well, knows I love to receive (and open) packages, so when this bad boy arrived at my door, I was giddy.

I thought I was going to receive one bottle of syrup to review, but instead it was the whole shebang!
Original:
Lite:
Sugar Free:
Rooty Tooty Fresh 'N Fruity® Strawberry:
And Rooty Tooty Fresh 'N Fruity® Blueberry:
My heart did a little leap of joy for the next morning's breakfast.

Since my hubby is the breakfast champion around here, he got right to work the next morning whipping up some Belgian waffles and bacon and sausage and eggs (he does it up right, I'm telling you). He even took the time to give a little lesson in egg frying to Dubya:

While the waffles were steaming away:

The kiddos all took their turns, politely, nicely, without any fighting or bickering or arguing or UFC-style wrestling, to pick out their syrup (and if you believe that, I have some property on the moon I'll sell you...)

My sweet baby decided on Rooty Tooty Fresh 'N Fruity® Strawberry (oh, yum).

And her big sister choose the Rooty Tooty Fresh 'N Fruity Blueberry,

while the boys both settled on Original, apparently so delicious that a little puddle on the counter top could not go to waste. (Side note: While we are not much of a Lite or Sugar Free family, both of those varieties were also delicious! A quick taste test told me so.)

With all the delicious syrup around, one could not, of course, leave a single, solitary, waffle divot (hole? square? What's that perfect little syrup holder in a waffle called?) unfilled.

Unless, of course, you're a dipper, like the Pal is (a moment of silence for his unfortunate absence from our taste test breakfast...okay continuing on...), then of course, it's syrup on the side, please and thank you.

Since I am the family photog I have not a single photo of me enjoying my breakfast (and I just realized that my husband did a fabulous job of avoiding my lens; he kept saying "Quit taking pictures of me!" and somehow I don't have any?! Trigger happy delete finger, perhaps?) But, I will tell you this: Waffle-slightly over cooked, Syrup-Blueberry, Whipped cream-Yes. Thankyouverymuch.

IHOP at Home Syrups were a resounding hit with our family; when we walked through the cereal aisle the other day, the kids saw IHOP at Home Syrup sitting ever so nicely on the shelf and proclaimed, "MOM! There's OUR syrup!!"

Yup. They got that right. It IS our syrup from here on out!

  1. Haven't tried IHOP syrup yet, but right now our favorite is Oklahoma made "Griffins" syrup. They have a new flavor "Iced Cinnamon Roll" which is very yummy. Send me some IHOP and we'll do a taste test between the two.

  2. I haven't tried it yet, but the strawberry Fresh and Fruity is calling my name!

  3. I love IHOP but the closest one is an HOUR away so I don't get there very often :( The thought of being able to buy their syrup to have at home is AWESOME! If it wasn't a crazy snowy mess outside right now I might think about heading out to grab some . . . maybe tomorrow after the roads are clear :)

PS I'm a tad jealous that your HUSBAND made breakfast...that never happens here!

  4. My family would adore IHOP syrups! We're big breakfast eaters and love to make pancakes or French toast on the weekends. My favorite would definitely be the blueberry flavor. My boys would probably pick the original, like your boys did. But I'm betting we'd love them all!
