Thursday Night 5QF Sneak Peek!

Can NOT believe it's Thursday already! I mean, wasn't it just Thursday, yesterday? Sheesh, summer is flying by already, and all I have to show for it are these gazillion mosquito bites. Mosquitoes bite. The big one. What are they good for anyway? Bat food? Well then, I ask you, what are BATS good for? SEE? NOTHING. We don't need bats and hence, we don't need mosquitoes. They can both kindly become extinct, effective immediately. Anyway, let's get to the questions! Welcome to Five Question Friday!! You've come to the right place if you discovered your muses are busy itching and scratching their mosquito bites.  Rules for 5QF:  Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then watch for the linky post to appear Friday morning and LINK UP!  Oh, and remember (pay close attention...this is the important one)...HAVE FUN! Questions for Friday, June 14th :  (Special thanks to Jennifer ( @JenniferOvery ) from The Days of a SAHM , Li...

In the Kitchen with Gram...Chicken Fajitas!

Update:  Well, you're never going to believe who won... I  can hardly believe it myself! I took my 24 entries (well, technically there were 25, but one was some Chinese spam hoodlum, so I took him out) to random.org and plugged in my numbers and here's what it came up with: Number 14. Guess who is "Number 14"? Kate!! Yes, my blog friend Kate won. I almost felt guilty that she won...then I figured, hey, it was fair and square and a deal is a deal! So, CONGRATS Kate! I'll get your super fabulous marinating dish out to you soon! Original post: Raise your hand if you like Chicken Fajitas *raises hand SUPER high in the air and gives it a little wave, too*. Yum. Chicken Fajitas make the world go round. When you have a Chicken Fajita, all is right with the world. Or, you know, all is right with supper. ;) This recipe is a super easy recipe...quick, too, the way we did it, although, I'd love to try the chicken and veggies grilled! Are you ready for som...

In Which I Walk a Fine Political (Not Really) Line.

So, this really isn't so much a story about politics, as it is about the, well, um...the quirkiness  of my brain. The Mr. has long wondered "what it's like" to live in my mind...jumping from this subject to that and back again in a nanosecond. I once walked him through a total train of thought  derailment that went something like this: When you asked me about my day and I answered "fine" I then remembered that I needed to get my hair done because once upon a time I went to a salon called the "Fine Line" and when I remembered I needed to get my hair done, it reminded me of the oils that my current salon sells and then I remembered that someone at work was asking me about Young Living and I needed to get them a catalogue. It can get pretty scary up in this old brain of mine. Anyway, last night, the Mr., who is a staunch conservative, was talking about the drones that government purportedly has AND OH MY GOSH, we're on the verge of living t...

Real Time...

I've got a post to write...but I bribed my little girl to do me a favor and therefor, the computer is hers. She's sitting right by me, repeating, "How 'bout one more mama? How 'bout one more mommy?"...I think she means just one more letter. I wonder what she thinks when she sees me continuing to type. Oh, now she's momentarily distracted by the iPhone...perhaps I can finish this post afterall?! We're finally home after a busy morning of summer activities. I sat in wet grass--oops, hold please...biggest kid needs his birth certificate for baseball. Okay, back now, waiting for him to come fetch his birth certificate. I'm in a conundrum trying to figure out how we're going to appease our baseball boys who will be playing ball on the same nights for the next several weeks. Ugh. Also, trying to decide if we're going to make the hour drive to watch my biggest boy play ball tonight, or if I'm going to be a horrible mom and take a...

Today's the Day...

Eeeeek!! Guys? Today's the day. The day my kiddo's team plays for section champs and a place in the state tournament! Good gracious. I'm so nervous or them ...I can't imagine how THEY feel! Our team was the #2 seed in our section and our rivals were the #1 seed. We had each beaten each other and then we met up in the section playoffs...both of us undefeated. Clearly, someone had to lose... And it was us. :( BUT...we won last night, so we're still in it!  Today's game will be tough...we can definitely beat this team (we have) but they're good. I think it'll come down to the "mind game"...whoever gets the first run and gets some momentum going is gonna take it. Here's the catch: Because the other team hasn't lost yet, if we win the first game (I mean...WHEN we win the first game) we will have to play an extra game (and win it) to get to state! Nerves abound. My nails are picked down to nothing. Wish us luck!!! ...

Let's Talk Young Living.

Since my Kluski post isn't anywhere ready to go (as in: I haven't even had time to start it yet), I figured talking about my Young Living experience would be perfect! Several months ago, I mentioned to my mom, who dabbles in essential oils and signed up as a wholesaler to help out a friend, that I wanted to try some more oils. Over the course of time, we had collected a few of her oils and I enjoyed how they smelled. We went back and forth, what did I want, what did I want most, what didn't I want, yadda yadda and when Christmas rolled around, I found a starter pack of oils (Everyday Essentials) amongst my Christmas loot. (I kinda think it was one of my favorite presents...) Let me level with you guys...I was kind of a skeptic. Mostly, I just enjoyed the way the smelled and shrugged my shoulders in a "Meh. If they have any kind of health benefits, BONUS, but I'm in it for the scent." kind of way. I have since become a wholesaler myself, mostly becau...

I Think...

...That we've been teleported to Seattle. This weather is so wet and rainy and cloudy and cool and blah. ...That summer vacation may just be my favorite thing in the whole world. Besides Christmas. And Thanksgiving. And birthdays.  ...That I might poop my pants tonight when my boy plays baseball. We lost last night, which means if we want to go to state, we have to win 3 straight games, two of which will be against our rival (the team that beat us last night). ...That I am completely smitten with the Laurie Berkner station on Pandora . ...That I need to place a Young Living order (I need to fill you in on my revelation). ...That I miss my husband. His job is crazy right now and my "love language" being quality time means I'm feeling slighted. And unloved. And perhaps THAT is what's wrong with me . ...That I really want a pool. A REAL pool. One that you can dive into and have pool parties and oodles of fun in. ...That I'm kind of a little bit exc...
