Five Question Friday! 7/26/13

I am so blasted tired. It is 12:23am, after a busy couple of days of work, baseball, life and this mama is WIPED!! Good thing we've got a mellow weekend in front of us! (Aside from baseball...baseball, baseball, baseball. It's a good thing I love it...although, I'd be lying if I didn't say that by this time of the year, I get a little baseball weary.)

I have freshly washed sheets tonight, thanks to my amazing 11 year old, but she used too much Downy fragrance thingamajigs and WHOO-WHEE!! Smells like a laundromat in here! *cough cough* *sneeze* *choke*

Anyway, let's answer this week's questions!

1. What is your best secret cleaning tip?
Okay, so I'd totally be blowing smoke up your butt if I tried at all to answer this question. See, the thing is, I'm not the best housekeeper...BUT!! BUT I am trying!

Over the last several months, I have been making a bigger, better effort at cleaning the house...however, that means I'm behind the 8 ball in terms of tips. I got nothin'.

Nothin' 'cept, "Don't make a mess in the first place." ;)

Honestly though, I find that I'm most motivated right after my morning cup of coffee...and truly, keeping tidy from the get go is the easiest way I've managed to keep things clean!

Now...if only I can get my boys to grasp this...

2. What is your favorite food to snack on during movie night?

Well, popcorn, of course...but I love to have some Dots with my movie.

Tropical Dots, to be precise. FRESH Tropical Dots to be specifically precise.

Oh, my friends. There is not much that's better than a box of FRESH, soft, chewy Dots on movie night.

Funny, on the flip side, whenever I eat cheese balls or cheese puffs, I prefer them slightly stale.

Fresh Dots and stale cheese puffs. What more does a girl need?!

3. If it was up to you, what would you have named the royal baby?

While George is a wonderful, upstanding name for a Royal King...I'm just not diggin' it for a baby. Certainly this means that Prince George will grow into his name, but...George?

It's just to grandpa-ish. I would've named the baby Riley Kyle Southeast. KIDDING.

I love old fashioned boy names (except for George), but I would've definitely gone more the route of Arthur, James, Philip, Louis...maybe they'll call him by his middle name "Alexander"...or his initials, "GAL".

Honestly though, I know I'm a total dork, but the royal family and their history totally captivates me. I'm completely fascinated by them and their rules and traditions and I realize I only see what the media chooses to show us, but it really seems like Will and Harry are some remarkable men, despite being born very privileged.

4. If you could be any Disney character who would you choose?

Oh, man! This is a thought provoker!

Of course I go right to one of the princesses. Not Rapunzel...too stifled. Not Cinderella...too much housework. I'm thinking Giselle. Naive and cute and a bit ditzy and the worst thing that happened to her was that she got pushed into a sewer in New York.

Wait. Um...gross. Maybe not. Well, yeah.

I'm going with Giselle.

5. What's the most important part of a healthy relationship?

Hoo boy! This one practically deserves a blog post all to itself! THE most important thing? You mean, like, other than God?

Respect.

You and your spouse will not always agree or see eye to eye but most of all, you need to respect one another. No bashing, no talking down to, no controlling or demanding or being demeaning...just, respect.

With respect comes kindness and everything else follows.

  4. George, tell used for a future King. Bah! :) Oh course, it's better than naming a child after a fruit.

  5. There is tropical Dots? Say whaa? I'm going to have to hunt these down. I like Dots but not during a movie. They get stuck to my teeth.

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte...
