Five Question Friday! 4/23/10--Vloggy Style!

Hey howdy ho peeps!! Welcome to 5QF!

I decided to vlog it this week...so many people have vlogged (Heidi, have YOU?!!), and I wanted to jump on the vlog bandwagon again, so aren't you lucky?! *cough, snort, chuckle, cough*

Bear with me on this...it was late...like, 1am, when I did it...I'm tired, and talking kinda quietly so I don't wake up my whole stinkin' family.

And...um...warning here.

I try to rap. As in Salt 'N Pepa rap. It's a bit awkward, forgive me.

Consider yourself fairly warned...

The rules...copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then c'monback to link up! The blog hop code is there for you to grab if you'd like it! I would really (honestly) appreciate it if you'd link back to me, Mama M.!!

If you don't have a blog, but would like to answer the questions...feel free to answer in the comments here, or on any blog along the way!

Questions for Friday, April 23rd: (Special thanks to Abby, Robin, Renee, Sandy, and (inspiration from) Crayon Wrangler for their question suggestions! Wanna be linked in a future 5QF? Just come on over to my community and offer up your questions!!)

1. What was the first car you owned?

2. What song are you embarrassed to know the lyrics to?

3. Have you ever had stitches?

4. What was your first job?

5. Who is your favorite Sesame Street character?

And, now...let's get it on...

MckLinky time now!! Oh, and remember...my comments are still wonky, if you are coming in directly to this post (via a link) and want to leave a comment, you'll need to hit the "Home" button on my nav menu (not refresh), when the page reloads, the comment option will be there!!

Thanks for your awesome comments on my last post...I enjoy hearing the encouraging words!!

  8. I loved the vlog. I may have to try it out soon.

I got my son that book "The Monster at the end of the this book" for Christmas and we love it.

I also had a book about grover when I was little. It was called "Grover sleeps over" and I still can't figure out why Grover was sleeping over with Betty Lou?

  9. Totally funny! I'm sorry to say, I can sing those songs too :)

  10. Great vlog!

My daughter loves The Monster at the End of This Book! She thinks it's hysterical!

PS. You aren't the only cashier who tried to boost those items per minute! I have about 5 years of cashiering under my belt and I always did that too! We actually had contests with all the cashiers to see who was the fastest, so lots of fellow dorks out there with you!

You really have the Minnesoooota accent. I have lived in MN my entire life and I can hear it, that's when you know its a thick accent! Great Vlog by the way. :)

  15. Ok so this was my first week playing Five Question Friday, but certainly not my last! Maybe next week I'll be brave enough to do a vlog?

I'm so happy you mentioned There is a Monster at the end of this book. It was honestly my favorite book growing up, and my mom would read it to my sister and I nightly with a Grover voice. I'm actually planning on going to see my mom at the end of May...I wonder if I can find that book for her? I know she would love to see it again too!

  16. Grover!! Yay! I think most Sesame Street characters are annoying but I love Grover! I have fond memories of listening to my dad read that book to my little sister! He did a great Grover voice!

  17. Your Minnesoota accent was killing me! Sorry . . . I guess it's not that obvious, but you've blogged about Minnesotians(?) special style of talkin' before, so I was listening for it!

You did a great job vlogging!

  18. Love your (slight) accent...from a former Wisconsinite, current Minnesotan!

I'm going to look for "The Monster at the End of This Book"...thanks for the tip!

Don't forget "Push It" by Salt-n-Pepa! I should've written that I know all the words to "Blame it on the Rain" by Milli Vanilli! Oh, for shame. ;)

  20. I'm so in love with your Fargo accent!

We had the same first job! Checker in a local grocery store...does it get more "small town" than that? But, we didn't have scanners! Ha! I had to punch the prices in by hand on old cash registers! How awesome is that?

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Crock-Pot Fajitas

You! Yes, YOU!! You must stop whatevertheheck it is that you are doing, and make this recipe. Right now. Tonight. Well...wait. You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
