Five Question Friday! 4/12/13

You'll hafta forgive me for not getting the sneak peek up in time...I've been working my fool head off with our friends to get ready for our wood floor installation today!! My back hurts, my arms hurt, my knuckles are all skinned up...I don't think I've worked this hard in a LONG time!

So, so, SO grateful for the amazing amounts of help we're getting from our friends, thanks L and D!!!

Anyway, I actually remembered to take before photos of this room redo...so stay tuned for the big reveal!

I'm going to go ahead and post this as soon as I'm done with it, since I didn't get the sneak peek up. Fer dumb.

Welcome to Five Question Friday!! You've come to the right place if you've discovered your muses are all wrapped up in flooring installation...or something!

Rules for 5QF: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then watch for the linky post to appear Friday morning and LINK UP!

Oh, and remember (pay close attention...this is the important one)...HAVE FUN!

1. Where do you hide things from your kids at?

2. What is your favorite rainy day activity for bored toddlers?

3. Are you a punctual person or are you always running a few minutes (or more!) late??

4. When eating out, do you prefer off the beaten path "Mom and Pop" cafes or tried and true national food chains?

5. Does your significant other snore? Do YOU snore?

-----------------------------------

1. Where do you hide things from your kids at?

Typically somewhere in a closet. Christmas presents get hidden all over the place, wherever we can find extra room!

I think I need to find a special place for a stash of chocolate for myself...that sounds like a fabulous idea to me.

Suggestions for hiding places?

2. What is your favorite rainy day activity for bored toddlers?

Oh boy. Let's see...a game of memory? Or, WAIT...reading books. Love snuggling up with a pile of good books, but that doesn't always last as long as I'd like...

Hmmm...one recent "discovery" of mine is watercolors...the kiddos love them, they aren't horribly messy (I'm looking at YOU PlayDoh) and the kids get to exercise their inner artiste!

But then I never know what to DO with all of their masterpieces...

3. Are you a punctual person or are you always running a few minutes (or more!) late??

Unfortunately, the latter. Many minutes late and YES I hate it, but we just can never seem to get our act together and get somewhere on time.

We've been trying to get better at it...and, on the flip side, it's turned our teenager into an anal retentive "on time" person.

See? We did something right in our parenting! ;)

4. When eating out, do you prefer off the beaten path "Mom and Pop" cafes or tried and true national food chains?

We are totally a divided house on this one...hubs prefers the mom and pop's...they kind skeeve me out a bit, you know? Like, I dunno if Cousin Jimmy, who suffers from a terrible habit of not washing his hands after he goes to the bathroom, is the cook.

And that's hard for me to swallow.

Literally.

Plus, I just like the comfort of knowing a restaurant has been deemed good enough that it's seen success across the nation. There's comfort in that, you know?

5. Does your significant other snore? Do YOU snore?

Oh, gracious. Does. He. Ever.

I should enter him in a snoring contest.

No, scratch that, I should totally enter him a sleep study and find out how many times he quits breathing every night. I listen, and it doesn't sound like he quits breathing, but WOW IS HIS SNORING LOUD!!!

Funny story, with my last pregnancy, I had a horrible cold, as I was dozing off, my hubby awoke me with his snoring, so I put my frozen feet on him (like usual) to get him to roll over. He rolls over, grumbles a bit, then I start to doze off again and am, once again, awoken by his snoring.

But something is different and I realize OH MAH GAW, that hideous noise was coming from ME! From me?! UGH, yes, from me.

It was awful. I kept that discovery to myself for awhile before I shared it.

Thank goodness that was the one and only time I have ever snored thankyouverymuch. Ahem.

---------------------------------------

Off to bed I go (I'm typing this at 12:30 AM!!)...big day tomorrow!

  1. I don't typically snore but I have woke myself up snoring when sick. I am telling you that sleep study saved my marriage. I actually have friends who sleep in a different room because of snoring.

I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte...
