Monday Mumblings...

Coming off a busy, wonderful weekend.

We "redid" our girls' room. It is now a gorgeous shade of raspberry with freshly repainted white trim, new to us carpet and an incredibly adorable rag rug that I stumbled upon at Walmart...photos to come.

Because of aforementioned room redo, we had a living room full of little girl room paraphernalia...and a Confirmation party to host on Sunday. Gah. Needless to say, we nearly saw Daylight Savings go into effect on Sunday morning. At 1:45 am I panicked and promptly sent myself to bed because I just could NOT handle seeing that hour just disappear before my very eyes. So I opted to just close my eyes and deal with it in the morning.

And that party? It was a brunch...and all I've gotta say about that is, thank the good Lord for the invention of egg bakes. It saved me.

So, now I have a freshly confirmed boy...so stinkin' proud of him.

I'm trying to be really, really patient in waiting for some gorgeous birthday boots, but COME ON Country Outfitter...14-17 days before shipping? I am dying over here. Positively dying.

We had another Winter Storm over the weekend. I scoffed at it around 11 am on Saturday and then it laughed in my face and dumped oodles of heavy, wet snow on me. It's official...I am over winter. Spring can come...and then you can listen to me complain about my allergies. ;)

And, just to make this post as completely random as I can...I am quite certain that Raffi visited my Elementary School when I was little. I vividly remember a man and a guitar singing Raffi songs and then our music teacher singing lot's of Raffi music and so I began researching Raffi and I can't confirm it yet (guess I could prolly ask my music teacher...) but I'm quite certain it was him. My brother remembers it too and my mom has vague memories of "Raffi something".

Kinda cool, huh?

Or, am I just weird for thinking this is as cool as I think it is?

I like Raffi. So there.

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
