Venus Embrace...Interview with Mama.

As part of the Venus Embrace Razor & Satin Care Passionista Fruit Shave Gel campaign, Belle and I had the opportunity to talk about fashion!
Watch now, as she interviews me about my fashion advice!

But first, a couple of notes:
1. I am no expert on anything "fashion," as evidenced by my lack of make-up and "un-done" hair. (Hey, I'm getting my hair done soon ... cut me some slack.)
2. I really DO love my Venus Embrace! Extra tips on the Venus Embrace here.
3. When did my daughter get so grown-up? And can anyone tell me where the "pause" button for life is? I'd like this time to go just a tad more slowly.

And now...ENJOY! (And no laughing!)

Would you like a shot at winning a $50 Visa gift card? Easy peasy ... just answer this question: What's the best beauty tip you have shared with your daughter to prepare her for the summer? Or share your funniest beauty mishap!

(Venus has some great tips for first-time shavers over here.)

  6. We have hit puberty, it is not fair, I want my baby girl back, you know the one with a baby girl body. We have spent hours talking. I think we have talked mostly about her being true to herself. And we talk about using good products, good face wash, we have not hit the shaving stage. although I bet she would love to. She did try shaving her hair with a pair of scissors. i noticed little hair on the sink regularly. she finally fessed up and I tried hard not to laugh

  26. My biggest beauty mishap was when I tried to highlight my hair at home; It was one of those kits where you pull the hair through the cap with a little crochet needle and someone how I ended up with a boatload of highlights on the left side of my head and very few on the right (I assume because I'm right-handed, it was easier to pull out from the left). I ended up calling my mom to come over and redo the right side for me. It still wasn't even but it was better.

  28. My funniest beauty mishap happened years ago. I was getting ready for work....during a storm. Power went out. No lights in the bathroom as I was finishing getting ready for work and putting on my makeup. I thought...I have done this so many times...I could do it in my sleep! Haha..wrong. My blush and powder foundation where in a container that looked almost the same. I ended up putting my blush on all over instead of the powder! Haha.....I laughed so hard when I got in the car and looked in the rearview mirror!

  59. I was so tired of using suntan lotions and really wanted a oil spray mist like product that smelled like coconuts but still offered at least 15 SPF. I found it and bought it and was thrilled, until I had an allergic reaction to it. I was hot pink anywhere I sprayed it and so itchy! This lasted for two days of my vacation and the sun made it burn like I was on fire!!! Was horrible!!!

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Crock-Pot Fajitas

You! Yes, YOU!! You must stop whatevertheheck it is that you are doing, and make this recipe. Right now. Tonight. Well...wait. You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte...
