As September opens and many of us are consumed with the daily battles of prepping children for school, there are (way too many) parent's who are consumed with daily battles for their child's life.
One of my fellow nurses has a sweet baby boy who is in the midst of battling his own war against retinoblastoma. I follow Ayden's Caring Bridge site, and it was through his site, that I learned that September brings with it a hope for awareness of childhood cancer.
One of Amanda's (Ayden's mom) latest posts shows her frustration with a diagnosis that should have been caught months earlier and her encouragement to all parents to push for thourough eye exams.
Here's to spreading Awareness for Childhood Cancer, in hopes that one day, we will be able to make childhood cancer history!!
(Props to that quote come direct from the MD Anderson site...which I finally found and it appears to be a good one!!)
