Deep thoughts...

Something dawned on me today. I was going to tweet it, but it was much too profound (and...er...way more than 140 characters) so I thought I'd just post it.

Prepare yourself...you're about to be blown away by my deep thoughts.

I had a revelation today.

I have realized that long car rides are a lot like labor...it doesn't take long before the memory of how horrific it was fades, and you start to consider doing it again.

Yes...this morning, I actually thought, "Huh...that really wasn't that bad!"

Excuse me now, I need to go plan our next road trip.

  1. Yep, I am the same exact way. And then once the kids start fighting, I question why we are doing this again. But in the end, despite the fights, cramped space, etc., it is all worth it!

  2. I don't know... I had a nightmare about childbirth the other day, and I know it was WAY worse than normal, it makes me nervous about doing it again. Atleast with car rides you have a choice. Not really any other option but to push a baby out of get knocked out and cut open when you're pregnant. LOL.

  3. I've been wanting to take a road trip lately. But, with a 2 year old & 11 month old? I may be nuts.

  5. I find that a lot of life is like that. God gives us these wonderful little "forgetful" hormones which help us only remember the good stuff and laugh off the bad stuff so we're willing to try again! You're funny but very accurate. -EW

  9. You know I have a HORRIBLE memory but road trip terror doesn't fade for me. I think I hate it more than the kids do. To me a 5 hour ride is too much work, let alone our 3 day trek to Florida. But we're hoping to do it for the first time in many year, and the first with THREE kids in the beginning of 2012. I'm not sure if I picked a date that far out to save up the $$ as I claim or to work up the courage.

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
