Blech. I am in a funk.
I'm quite certain I know who's to blame (I'm on to you, Captain...), but still...funk city over here.
Not sure if I wanna cry the whole day or sleep the day away...but I can't do either...so, instead...I'll focus on happiness.
On positivity.
Ahhhhh...positivity...it's what makes the world go 'round! (But that's a whole 'nuther post!)
Happiness is:
~Seeing my children's smiles every morning.
~Having the most amazing husband in the entire world.
~Realizing the laundry isn't as suffocating as I had originally imagined.
~Discovering an untapped 1/2 gallon of Cotton Candy ice cream in the freezer.
~Getting a "first ever" text from my newly "iPhone" acquired mama.
~A nap. A long, deep, much needed nap.
~Ginger Snap cookies...fresh from the oven.
~Enough food to fill our bellies.
~Health.
~Friends. Some of the most amazing, wonderful, beautiful friends to have ever walked the Earth.
~God. He's always with me...I just need to reach out.
~Happiness. (Can I say that? Happiness is Happiness?!)
~An ice cold can of Coke.
~My Baby Girl, reaching her arms up and saying, "I need me!"
~A roof over my head.
~Safety.
~My Grandparents.
~Some pretty durn amazing parents.
~A few totally rockin' brothers.
~My Life.
Wow. I feel better already!

ReplyDeleteAwww...I liked that! I'm sending warm weather thoughts your way..
ReplyDeleteI think is awesome how your turning a funky day around :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea- for when funky days hit my way, i will try to focus on the positive :)
Awww! Such a sweet post! Happiness to me is my sweet, little family, and just about everything else you listed! We are greatly blessed!
ReplyDeleteOh do I understand being in a funk.... though I know why mine is upon me.... partially its because I start school again tomorrow... and Mondays and Wednesdays are going to be long days especially Mondays.....
ReplyDeleteTo me happiness is my kids and how they get along or don't get along depending on the moment. ...the roll of paper towels I have in my hand ready to chuck at my son if his thumb goes into his mouth.... ugh.....
The fact that in a few weeks I will really be able to re-discover who I really am without anything to hold me back.... besides said kids.....
Aww, I loved this post; I'm totally in a funk, myself!
ReplyDeleteBlah.

happiness is when my family is on vacation. i do not mean spending money, when we went to williamsburg for a week we had a ball. even more fun than at disney. we were all in one hotel room we did EVERYTHING together. we did not have chores and school work (although they got alot of school in there they did not know about) and we laughed and stayed up until midnight watching animal planet and laughing and laughing. it was wonderful

ReplyDeleteI have two kids and that is my number one right now.
It would be bliss.
Looks like there's really a lot to be thankful for in your life.

I needed this post because I've been in a funk all week!
ReplyDeleteLove reading "your Happiness" list! even in these short snippets...I cant help but smile...love your sense of humor!
ReplyDeleteBlessings & Aloha!
Thank you so much for disclosing your funky mood, then telling us how you got out of it.
ReplyDeleteAs an author on "happiness" I sometimes hestitate to share my "down" moods as if I'm supposed to be "up" all the time. I've learned that readers don't want Ms. Merry Sunshine. They want real people with real problems who figure out how to solve them.
You have much to be grateful for, as do so many of us. We absolutely can't let the blues keep us down and let us forget our blessings.
Thanks again.
