--------------------------------------------

Wow! Four weeks into "Operation TreeHouse"...and, honestly, I never thought it'd be this far! But, alas...it is, afterall, "Labor Day Weekend"...and boy, has there been a lot of laboring going on over here! (And, no, I don't mean the birthing baby type of labor...I'm talkin' 'bout power tools, hammers flyin', manual labor, here!!)

My manly men, have gotten loads of work done on the TreeHouse!

See for yourself:

Pretty impressive, huh? And, I can brag, I haven't done a lick of the work myself, so I can talk it up, right? These boys are doin' a "bang up" job at this TreeHouse thing!!

So, at the start of this "Operation", I was thinkin', "A couple of posts, nail up some boards for the sides, slap on a roof, and you're golden!"...but, um, apparently, Mr. Wonderful and I have differing ideas of a TreeHouse. Our TreeHouse is plumb, and flush, and level, and square, and true, and "right on the nuts" (that quote straight from the mouth of E.W.--yikes!! Who's this kid been hangin' out with???!!). With it's framed walls and windows, sheesh, someone could live in this thing!

Jokingly, I said to Mr. Wonderful..."All we need to do now is sheetrock it."

To which he responded, "Well, I framed it in so we could put up particle board, or something."

Sensing that he may have thought I had just given him the okay to up the ante to sheetrock, I, gently, informed him I was kidding.

...but I still think he's considering it.

Comments

  1. It looks great! I love the siding :-)

FWIW - my husband would do it the same way. Nothing less than perfect, just in case, you know, my son had to live in there or something. Ha!

Can't wait to see the finished product!

  2. Looks awesome! My perfectionist husband would have built it the same way....with actual windows...and probably mini- air conditioner, electricity, and a TV.

I would have just pinned a few sheets between trees!

  3. I appreciate the opinions and knowledge! :) I'm already a little wigged out about his hearing with all of his ear infections he gets so hearing is sensitive to me to begin with. And with that being a side effect...ick! He's going to be labeled "different" already, don't want to add another handicap you know. But again, I appreciate the advice! :)

  4. Wow, your very own little tree cottage. You know, you could make it your personal retreat when it's all done...just add a mini-fridge and a TV!

  5. Love how the tree house it coming along! Wow! It is gorgeous!

hmmm...is it close enough to run an extension line in there for a light? sleeping in it would be awesome :o) I've always wanted a tree house growing up!

    Blessings & Aloha!

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
