I can't believe it.
It's happening already.
The ginormous space being cleared out at Macy's.
The return of "Cranberry Splash" Sierra Mist (thank you, thank you, thank you God...or Pepsi, or Coke, you know, whomever...for this amazing soda--that one's for you, Keely!)
The inconspicuous display of holiday colored sprinkles.
And, these words, which actually came out of my mouth..."Mom, what would you like for Christmas?"
Ahem?
Christmas?
Helllloooo, me!! WTH!!! are you doing talking about Christmas in September, and why is Macy's preparing for "The Holiday's" (which, btw, I'll just refer to as Christmas, feel free to insert your own celebrated holiday in it's place, if you wish), and why is (but, oh thank you!!) Pepsi, or Coke, or whomever (or would it be whoever?) already releasing their Christmas soda (well, guess it falls under Thanksgiving, too...it being cranberry and all)??!!!
It is still (finally??) over 80 degrees here...Christmas is/should be a distant thought!
Crazy...seems to start earlier and earlier every year.
Soon, we really will be celebrating Christmas in July!
Heck, I just might start leaving up my Christmas decorations year round.
I love Christmas, I love it all...the reason for the season, the gifting (giving and...um...especially receiving!!), the smells and the baking and the decorations and the family gatherings and Santa and snowmen and Christmas Eve Midnight mass...I could go on and on.
But, really...it's September.

I know!! It is crazy!! I took my daughter shoe shopping this weekend and they already had out christmas jammies and dresses!
ReplyDeleteI was like you have to be kidding me... I am like you and LOVE christmas and cant wait but can we at least get halloween over with :)
Althought I celebrate Christ's birth year round, to me, the "season" of Christmas doesn't begin until the first week of November. Anything earlier than that is just plain insane.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of Cranberry Splash -- sounds yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmy!
Oooohhh..that cranberry splash sounds pop..:-) sounds yum!! I love, love, love Christmas, but I have to agree..wait till at least Nov..
ReplyDeleteHalloween and Christmas decorations totally clash!
Hobby Lobby has had Christmas trees set up since right after the 4th of July. In the lobby. In the main entrance. CRAZY! Ava wouldn't quit asking me where Santa was!!
ReplyDeleteYay, so excited about Cranberry Splash Sierra Mist coming back! Love that stuff (and btw, it's a Pepsi product. I know this, b/c my dad is a Coca-Cola driver. He makes sure we know which pop belongs to which company..lol)
ReplyDeleteI'd rather not have Christmas stuff out this early either. I think it takes away from the actual season. And Christmas Eve midnight mass? I wish we had that, but Father says he doesn't want to do it that late anymore, since too many drunks show up..lol
It's still in the 100's here! Definitely too hot to be thinking about christmas! Don't tell! I listened to a christmas cd the other day! I LOVE christmas too!
ReplyDeletePLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!! It's insane!! Can't even believe the Halloween stuff is out, forget Christmas. UUUGGGGHHH!!
ReplyDeletePS. found you through the blog frog! :)
Yep, time is flying way too fast...
