Yummo!!

Here's the deets on a dish that is delish! (Wow...that was kinda cheesy, huh?) I am a girl that lives for condiments...ketchup is a major part of the food pyramid to me, and food is just the "vehicle" to get the ketchup into my mouth (I think I'd feel strange just shoveling ketchup in with a spoon...but who knows? Maybe I should try it!)...and if I could get away with it, I would so double dip like Tiny Girl and just keep repeatedly dipping and licking away, not bothering to eat a bit of whatever happens to be the vehicle for the ketchup (or ranch dip, or potato chip dip, or...)! But, I digress...back to my recipe! Here is a yummy salsa that is also super easy!

Black Bean and Corn Salsa

1 can black beans ("seasoned recipe" or regular, your preference, it is, afterall, your dip), drained, not rinsed

1 can white shoepeg corn, drained

1 can Ro-Tel, with cilantro and lime

8 oz Zesty Italian Dressing

Dash of kosher salt (I'm sure regular salt would work fine too...try at your own risk tho'!)

Hearty handful of cilantro, chopped (or not, 'cuz, you know, it's your dip)

Mix all together, serve with your favorite tortilla chips (or, perhaps, just a spoon?), and enjoy! You can thank me later.

In other news...it was a day for a milestone! Rolling over, crawling, walking, talking...they've got nuthin' on this...my teenager called Wal-Mart, all by himself to see if they had a Wii game. I know. I can't believe it myself. "Weirdness" and "embarrassment" aside, he survived...and you know what? I think he's all the better for it (even if he thinks I'm mean for refusing to do it!)! So, a big round of applause for Big A!

Oh, and stay tuned! I'm brewing a giveaway...and it has to do with reading (my other escape, you know, besides blogging). I'll keep you posted!

  2. The salsa sounds good! I am with you on the ketchup...something really gross (that I should probably keep to myself) when I was pregnant - I would make a meal out of the little ketchup packs you get, for some reason I thought Burger King's was the best (???)

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here: Halo Braid Tutorial! Let me know how it goes!
I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it.
Instead, I got this:

Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks!
Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay!
This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby!
So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Crock-Pot Fajitas

Yes, YOU!!
You must stop whatevertheheck it is that you are doing, and make this recipe. Right now.
Tonight.
Well...wait. You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it...
But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later!
Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story!
And this story...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;)
So, you can thank her...I guess.
Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized!
You'll need this:
And, this:

You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. (Ahem...)
Just keepin' up with the times, friend.
So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips...
And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips...
(Lemme just interject here...sorry for …
