My Little Life

Well, technically, that day has yet to come. In fact, after they few the "footage", it may never come. Ack ! I'm getting sweaty just thinking about it all again!! Enough rambling...lemme fill you in. Today, I was interviewed by our state's Fox affiliate. I ain't nevah been on no news before. I'm quite sure that's about what I sounded like. Well that and "a-duh-a-duh-a-duh". There's a bit of a background to this story...first, read this and then, this ...it'll give you the backstory of what has become a wonderful, bittersweet, heartwarming saga. Seeing the good in people come out in full force. People giving selflessly to help another out in a time of heartbreak and upheaval. A local Pizza Ranch, after seeing the footage from the second story, contacted my friend and offered to do a benefit for the LaMaack's . Tonight was that benefit. To say it was a success would not be doing it justice! It was standing room only, with a line out...

Last winter, I told you the amazing rescue story of my co-worker's husband, Matt. I told you how, after finding them via Google Earth, a self-less, amazing couple risked their lives to save Matt from a snow storm. These people went above and beyond the "call of duty" to save a complete stranger. The story was covered, in depth , by a Fox affiliate in our state, Fox 9 News. The Gene and Julie LaMaack , and their son, never hesitated to help out the Lahn's from the time they got a phone call, from complete strangers, that a man was stranded in the vicinity of their home, until they had him safe and sound by the fire in their home. Tragedy has now struck the LaMaacks ...a couple of weeks ago, their home burned down, to the ground. They lost everything, including the family dog. And now? The Lahn's want to pay it forward. They have set up a benefit fund for the LaMaacks , to help ease the burden of rebuilding their home and replacing their belongings. If you find ...
