Something New...

Well, something "old" actually, but "new" to my blog!

I've been trying to decide what to do for my 1,000th post (which, in reality, may not happen this week! Boo!!)...and I realized that never before, in the history of this blog, have I done a "Ask Mama Anything" post!

So, let's do it. (And gosh...I hope I get more than one or two questions to answer!!)

Ask me anything...anything at all, and I will answer your questions on my 1,000th blog post! (And remember, your comments [i.e. your questions on this post] will count as entries in my Blogoversary giveaway!)

Okay, ask away!

  1. Have you always had such a good sense of humor? Does it run in your family or something? Cuz every time I read your posts I chuckle.

Are you a natural blonde? If so please don't get mad...but I sometimes laugh when I hear blonde jokes. (Forgive me!)

I cannot tell a joke if my life depended on it. I guess that's why I like funny people.

    Love you Mama M.

    Linda @ Truthful Tidbits

  2. If you could give one piece of advice, what would it be?

  3. I'm hoping to get accepted to a tough nursing program this coming fall. I'll be going to school, raising a 2 year old, and battling my firefighter husband's (24 hrs on, 24 hrs on call, 24 hrs off) schedule. Any advice? Any at all!?

  4. I struggle to find time to write my blog AND read all the blogs I follow - I only have 3 children.
I like writing and catching up reading my favourite blogs at night - it's quiet and peaceful (ok, not always, but usually)...but then I end up staying up too late. Which means *yawn* the following day. But I don't know when or how else I can squeeze it in.
How do you find time, with 5 kids, work and the home? Do you keep a strict schedule, or just when the inspiration strikes?

  5. I'm a LPN and I graduate in May from a RN program. I work in basic care right now but know I don't want to stay in this nursing setting forever. How did you know you wanted to work in an OB department and did you work on other floors before you worked there?

  6. I love your talkin' shop posts...(although, I could never in a million trillion years be in any type of medical profession...yikes!)...and I was wondering what your favorite thing about being an OB nurse is and what your least favorite thing is.

  7. If you could have dinner with yourself at age 18 what would the 3 things you'd make sure you told "younger you"?

  8. What are the top 10 moments of your life?

  9. How much do you love your new camera? (Looking to buy one!)

  10. What is the hardest thing for your family of 7 to do? Travel? Go to the grocery? Anything!

  11. I'm new here forgive me if this is something you've covered... I've not gotten to it yet. Is your life now what you would have pictured when you were in high school? How is it the same/different, etc...

  12. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be ?

  13. How did you get your blog to grow? How did you get blogher and other people to work with you?

  14. Do you have any favorite commenters or memorable subscribers? Like do you remember your first one?

  15. If you pee'd on a stick right now and it turned up *positive*, what would you say?

(Cause you know my wicked sense of humor hehe!)

  16. If you could invite anyone to a dinner party - real, fictional, living, dead, who would you invite? and why?

  17. Did you always want a lot of children?

  18. Did you always want to become a nurse? And Why?

  19. How many babies have you delivered? Have you delivered twins? If you had it to do over would you still deliver babies? Did you make smores when you BBQ'd that tree? Will you always do 5 question friday

  20. Hi! I'm new here...and loving it! What would be your best piece of parenting advice? Also, how do you handle organizing all the "school" stuff (homework, teacher notes, special announcements, etc...)?

  21. Mr. Wonderful seems really supportive. Does he ever get frustrated with all of the computer time - blogging, tweeting, etc? LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog. It is truly my fave!!

  22. Do you make money off your blogging? How did you get so many followers?

  23. i'm sure you see lots and lots of babies being born and meet lots of new mommies and daddies. do you remember the mommies and daddies say 2-3 years down the road when they go to have their 2nd (3rd, etc) baby?

  24. If you could go back in time and live in any time period/country, where would it be?

Side note: I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!!!

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here: Halo Braid Tutorial! Let me know how it goes!
I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it.
Instead, I got this:

Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks!
Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay!
This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby!
So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Crock-Pot Fajitas

Yes, YOU!!
You must stop whatevertheheck it is that you are doing, and make this recipe. Right now.
Well...wait. You should probably finish reading this post you know how to make it...
But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later!
Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story!
And this story...which, the same story, just told two different ways! ;)
So, you can thank her...I guess.
Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized!
You'll need this:
And, this:

You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. (Ahem...)
Just keepin' up with the times, friend.
So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips...
And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips...
(Lemme just interject here...sorry for …
