Thoughts for the Holidays...

Okay, so this thought was almost lost in that "right before sleep" haze. I thought of it...and by morning, I knew, I just knew, that I had thought up something fun, but for the life of me, I couldn't remember it. (I think, that in the history of all mankind, that last sentence has to be the most comma laden sentence I've ever seen. Maybe.)

So, I sat and thought. And I thunk. And eventually, I dredged up the idea I had...only, now I was doubting myself.

Here's where YOU come in.

Would any of you be interested in doing a "Holiday Gift Ideas" blog hop? Where, for example, we have a theme and we give real and personal ideas/suggestions of what a good gift would be for that theme, based on experience?

My original thought was for Children's books. I LOVE books, I LOVE finding a hidden gem...something other than the "Fancy Nancy's" and the "Goodnight, Moon's" (not that those aren't gems...they're just such...staples, I guess!), and I thought with this amazing community of bloggers, what a wealth of ideas we could share!

Then, my idea grew...it grew and it grew and it grew (name that book) until it became something more. Something that we could all use as a gift guide for the holidays!

So...honest thoughts...would you be interested? Would you participate?

Am I off my rocker?

Lemme hear what you have to say!!

  2. I think this would be good fun. I'm a little rusty in the children's books arena, but I'd happily participate in such a blog hop. Another idea would be "favorite home-made gifts" ideas--not like the sweater that grandma crocheted out of all of the leftover yarn she's accumulated over the years that turned out with one arm longer than the other, but real fun stuff that people would like. Fire up the bandwagon, I'm sure you'll have folks ready to hop on board, Mama M!

  9. I think this is a fun idea.. something that could lead us all the way up till christmas. Like one week you could do books, then toys, then fav candles, mens gifts.. etc etc. That way no matter what somebody is looking for that particular year they would have some ideas.

    Can't wait!!

  10. Great idea! I always have trouble with the oldest generation. In my family that is men & women in their 60's.

    ...and men's gifts in general.

I'd love hear ideas on those!

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Crock-Pot Fajitas

You! Yes, YOU!! You must stop whatevertheheck it is that you are doing, and make this recipe. Right now. Tonight. Well...wait. You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
