Okay, so this thought was almost lost in that "right before sleep" haze. I thought of it...and by morning, I knew, I just knew, that I had thought up something fun, but for the life of me, I couldn't remember it. (I think, that in the history of all mankind, that last sentence has to be the most comma laden sentence I've ever seen. Maybe.)
So, I sat and thought. And I thunk. And eventually, I dredged up the idea I had...only, now I was doubting myself.
Here's where YOU come in.
Would any of you be interested in doing a "Holiday Gift Ideas" blog hop? Where, for example, we have a theme and we give real and personal ideas/suggestions of what a good gift would be for that theme, based on experience?
My original thought was for Children's books. I LOVE books, I LOVE finding a hidden gem...something other than the "Fancy Nancy's" and the "Goodnight, Moon's" (not that those aren't gems...they're just such...staples, I guess!), and I thought with this amazing community of bloggers, what a wealth of ideas we could share!
Then, my idea grew...it grew and it grew and it grew (name that book) until it became something more. Something that we could all use as a gift guide for the holidays!
So...honest thoughts...would you be interested? Would you participate?
Am I off my rocker?
Lemme hear what you have to say!!
I think that is a great idea. I'm in! I am always in need of fresh gift ideas!
ReplyDeleteI think this would be good fun. I'm a little rusty in the children's books arena, but I'd happily participate in such a blog hop. Another idea would be "favorite home-made gifts" ideas--not like the sweater that grandma crocheted out of all of the leftover yarn she's accumulated over the years that turned out with one arm longer than the other, but real fun stuff that people would like. Fire up the bandwagon, I'm sure you'll have folks ready to hop on board, Mama M!
ReplyDeleteThat would be awesome! And if you need any help in the children's book department, I am a children's book author and would be happy to name a few hidden gems....this is a GREAT idea!
ReplyDeleteI'd be up for it! I am always looking for those hidden gems! And I personally love childrens books! :) I could talk about them for hours! lol
ReplyDeleteCheck out our new blog about childrens books! :)

ReplyDeleteSure I love Christmas...I make list all year of ideas that people "drop"...I'm in
ReplyDeleteLove it- I e-mailed you about it actually too:)
ReplyDeleteI think this is a fun idea.. something that could lead us all the way up till christmas. Like one week you could do books, then toys, then fav candles, mens gifts.. etc etc. That way no matter what somebody is looking for that particular year they would have some ideas.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!!
Great idea! I always have trouble with the oldest generation. In my family that is men & women in their 60's.
ReplyDelete...and men's gifts in general.
I'd love hear ideas on those!
Yes for sure.
ReplyDeleteYes, this would be great fun!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this idea. I am always up for new and fun Christmas ideas!! Just a thought but you could include other areas such as decorating or cookie baking.
