Holiday Gift Guide Blog Hop! Week 6..."Gifts for Gram"

Well...the Gift Guide has taken a serious nose dive south, but in the name of solidarity...or good fun...or OCD, whatev...I will forge on!

This week's theme is: "Gifts for Gram"...I dunno about you, but I have the HARDEST time finding my grandma's good gifts. Usually, I end up doing something totally unoriginal (like can openers or socks or something) and then slappin' grandpa's name on the gift too.

I know..."no try" to the extreme.

This year, however...I had the BEST idea! I had the most wonderful, brilliant, fabulous idea EVER!!

Then everyone decided to go together and get my grandma and grandpa a computer. (The other set of grandma, however...is still 'ungifted' as of yet...so perhaps I will still carry this thought out!)

There went my fabulous idea.

Wanna know what it was?

You're dying to know, aren't you?!

Okay...let me tell you the story behind it, first...

One year for Christmas, I wanted it. I got it. The end.

You were on the edge of your seat, weren't you? I drew you in with "one year"...and by Christmas, you were all wrapped up in the story, right?! I knew it.

Alright, I'll stop with the funny business...for real now...

My "Gram Gift" is:

A "hot pack". Well, that's what we call them, anyway! They are from Grampa's Garden, and come in all sorts of shapes and sizes!

I'm not sure if our particular one is carried anymore...but I think it would be just a tad smaller than the one I linked above, which measures 20" x 40".

They are, without a doubt, the most wonderfully soothing thing ever invented. Pop it in the microwave for subtly scented heat therapy. Great for cramps, yucky tummies, ear aches, or even when the bitter cold of winter has numbed you to your marrow...Grampa's Garden "Hot Packs" (in "_" because you can also use them cold...) are fabulous.

And, they didn't pay me to say that. Or give me anything...or even know who I am. I just love them. The end.

Okay...so, do you have any great "Gram Gift" ideas? Let's hear 'em!

  1. Anything in the Nap collection at Brookestone. It's a great gift, even if it is a little generic, that everyone loves. :) My mother in law wanted a snuggie, so we got her the Nap version. I want one now! ;)

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
