Holiday Gift Guide Blog Hop! Week 6..."Gifts for Gram"

Well...the Gift Guide has taken a serious nose dive south, but in the name of solidarity...or good fun...or OCD, whatev...I will forge on! This week's theme is: "Gifts for Gram"...I dunno about you, but I have the HARDEST time finding my grandma's good gifts. Usually, I end up doing something totally unoriginal (like can openers or socks or something) and then slappin' grandpa's name on the gift too. I know..."no try" to the extreme. This year, however...I had the BEST idea! I had the most wonderful, brilliant, fabulous idea EVER!! Then everyone decided to go together and get my grandma and grandpa a computer. (The other set of grandma, however...is still 'ungifted' as of yet...so perhaps I will still carry this thought out!) There went my fabulous idea. Wanna know what it was? You're dying to know, aren't you?! Okay...let me tell you the story behind it, first... One year for Christmas, I wanted it. I got it. The end. You were on the...

Holiday Gift Guide Blog Hop! Week 5..."Teacher Gifts"

Welcome to Week 5 of the Holiday Gift Guide!! Last week was a bust. Children's gifts must be no-brainers...but, I hope that y'all will share your best "Teacher Gifts" ideas with all of us! I dunno about you, but aside from Man Gifts, "Teacher Gifts" are about the hardest thing for me to find. In fact, for many years, I just pretended that "Teacher Gifts" didn't exist! I mean, gosh...teachers have families and get gifts from them for Christmas, so certainly they didn't need another bruised apple to make their Christmas merry and bright, right? So, I just plugged along, blissful in my own little mind that I didn't need to add Mrs. So-and-So to my shopping list. Then, I got wise. Or compassionate. Or nice. Or something...and I realized that yes, indeed, our childrens' teachers DO deserve a little something for Christmas! However, I then went back into "la-la land" and just forgot about it until the day before Christmas bre...

Holiday Gift Guide Blog Hop! Week 2..."Man Gifts"

Welcome to Week 2 of the Holiday Gift Guide! Just a quick update...I have decided to leave all of the linky's open until the very end, so that anyone joining in late can add to the appropriate theme if they'd like to! Now, the gift I am going to share is an "idea"...I have seen it in person, though, and it looks like awesome fun, especially (but not exclusively) if you have a golfer in your life! Lawn games are the bee's knees around here..."Polish Horseshoes", "Bean Bags", "Horse Shoes"...you name...

Holiday Gift Guide Blog Hop! Week 1...Children's Books

Welcome to our Holiday Gift Guide Blog Hop! Where, for the next 7 weeks, we'll have a different "theme" and post our most favorite gifts (or ideas) for the Holidays! (And by "we", I mean "YOU and me"!) No idea what to get for Grandpa Joe this year? Wondering what Grandma Mae could possibly need? Looking for something "homemade" to give to a loved one? Well, you've come to the right place, because those are just a few of the themes we'll have over the next 7 weeks! (Yup...that's right...just over 7 weeks until Christmas is upon us!!) This week's theme, while quite specific, is the idea that got this whole thing started, "Children's Books...Hidden Gems". I love finding new books for my kiddos that aren't your typical "Goodnight Moon" and "Where the Wild Things Are" (two fabulous books...but EVERYBODY knows that!!). Whenever I am in need of a gift to give to a kiddo, I know I can never go w...
