Five Question Friday! 5/14/10

Happy Friday my friends!!

This weekend, we are off to our first baseball tourney of the season...and it sounds like it is gonna be a fabulous weekend for it!

Look out Minneapolis...here we come!

I thought about blogging this bad boy today...but, I'm typing this out at 1am...I'm tired...and I've got bags under my eyes big enough to pack our home in!

It's scary. I would make small children cry, right now. So...really...you should be thanking me for giving you 5QF in black and white!

You're welcome! ;)

Now...let's get down to business!

Rules for Five Question Friday: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then come on back to link up! Grab the Linky Blog Hop code, if that's your kinda thing...and I'd be your best friend if you'd link back to me, Mama M.!

If you don't have a blog...start one now! Okay, okay...if you don't have a blog, but wanna play along, feel free to answer the questions in the comments of this post, or on any blog along the way!

Questions for Friday, May 14th: (Special thanks to: Pam, Renee, Sandy, Jill for their question suggestions and a random question drawn from my brand spankin' new deck of question cards! Wanna be linked in a future 5QF? Just c'mon over to my community and offer up your best question suggestion!)

1. Take your pick...date night, girls night out, or night out alone?

2. Can you touch your nose with your tongue?

3. What is your favorite flower and why?

4. If you could go back in time, what advice would you give yourself?

5. If you won the lottery, what is the very first thing you would do?

------------------------------------

1. Take your pick...date night, girls night out, or night out alone?

Oooooh, this is so hard for me to choose!!

I know that I wouldn't choose a night out alone. I'm weird like that...and I don't like to be alone.

I get all self-conscious and I don't like to eat alone...yeah, I'm crazy. I know. And, I don't even know who I can blame for that!!

I think...hmmmm...I think I'm gonna go with girl's night out! Or, GNO, as my blog friends taught me! (PS...Jolene, Laura, Sarah...I still wanna re-do of our GNO that I missed!! Please?)

I find that GNOs make me a better mom and a better wife. Get me outta the house, away from responsibility and...noise...for just a little bit, and I come back all refreshed and feeling good!

So...GNO, final answer.

2. Can you touch your nose with your tongue?

And, here is why I wanted to vlog.

Not only can I touch my nose with my tongue...but I could pick it with my tongue if I wanted to.

That, my friends...takes talent!

A talent that I am working very hard to make sure I pass onto my children! So far, we're 3 for 5, with Baby Girl not too far from the goal and Belle close behind!

Forget about ABC's...this mom teaches her kids "Stupid People Tricks".

My husband is so proud...

3. What is your favorite flower and why?

Well...if I'm to be perfectly honest...I have more of an "un-favorite" flower than a "favorite" flower.

I can not stand carnations.

I don't know what it is...but I hate 'em! They're ugly and they stink and they make me want to take a shower.

I can't explain it.

It's weird. I know.

You know...I have to give my hubby some gift giving credit...

When he gave me the legendary "epic fail" Chocolate Covered Strawberry gift...at least he knew not to give me carnations with it!

It woulda been divorce for sure if that happened! ;)

4. If you could go back in time, what advice would you give yourself?

Wow...this is a deep one...and one that I am going to dedicate a whole post to for Janae of Pink Moss...

But...if I were to give myself just one little tid bit of information...I would tell myself to not be so dang boy crazy.

I would tell myself to put my girlfriends first and boys last.

'Cuz girlfriends are around forever and their friendships are so much more meaningful than any boy who crossed my path ('cept for Mr. Wonderful. I couldn't imagine life without him!!).

5. If you won the lottery, what is the very first thing you would do?

*THUD*

I'd faint. Dead away. And, with my lack of grace, I'm sure I'd hit my head on the way down, knock out some teeth and have to spend all my money on getting my face repaired and my teeth replaced.

But...after I fainted...I'd quietly call the Mr. and make an appointment with the very best financial adviser we could find.

-------------------------------------------

Okie dokie folkies! That's it!!

I'm hopin' to catch the beginnings of a tan this weekend...so wish me luck.

And, will someone please remind me to pack the sunscreen? I'd prefer "hint of tan" as opposed to "lobster like reddness".

Thank you very much! Have a fabulastic weekend!

  8. Ok so I have no idea how to link up, but I def posted a link to you on my blog entry today.

That being said, you are the 2nd person I've heard of that can pick their noes with their tongue. I met a kid in middle school that could do it and was completely disgusted by it. Now it's cracking me up that an adult is admiting they can do it!

  9. I'm with you on the Carnations. They are ugly, they stink and for some reason that's what people like to give out at Mothers Day at church. Can't you come up with something prettier that dont stink?

  25. I left a comment on your military appreciation post on MckM's forum. I don't have a blog, but thinking about starting one. We are a Navy family and about to move again! I really love most flowers, but I hate Birds of Paradise. They freak me out, the way they look alive and like they want to peck my eyes out. Mostly just wanted to say hi because I appreciated your thoughts about military families.

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Crock-Pot Fajitas

You! Yes, YOU!! You must stop whatevertheheck it is that you are doing, and make this recipe. Right now. Tonight. Well...wait. You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
