Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Line...A Review

You know, when a girl reaches a certain age, she should be able to say good-bye to certain things.

Zits are at the top of that list.

As a girl (girl, ha! I can hardly use that term anymore!) who's never had great skin, to continue to suffer from acne into my 30s is like a kick when I'm already down. While my acne has never been terrible (aside from those early teen years. Ugh.), I really thought that by the time my OWN kids had acne, that I'd be done with it.

HA! Why did I think I'd be so lucky?! (See for yourself. Not horrible, but really...at 34?! C'mon!!)

My biggest complaints with my skin have always been my stubborn blackheads and the monthly breakouts that accompany my PMS. (BTW...how is that fair? How is it that just when a woman is feeling her most vulnerable, irritable, volatile self, she also looks her worst?)

When I was offered the chance from BlogHer and Olay to trial Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Line, a product targeted for adult women (did you know that women are affected by acne as adults at higher rates than men?), it seemed to be the answer to my prayers!

The Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Line recognizes that adult women have different needs for their skin. Aging skin presents its own challenges (fine lines, texture issues, etc.) and most acne treatments are formulated for youthful skin, not "aging" skin. Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Line is formulated for those of us who could be, maybe, possibly, perhaps a little bit, suffering from skin that isn't so youthful anymore. (I just teared up a little bit as I realized that I do, indeed, fall into that "not so youthful" category.)

I stepped lightly into these waters, knowing my skin, and knowing that it often stages a revolt any time I try something new. I dove into the skin regime with a healthy dose of skepticism. After the initial mini-"what are you doing NOW?!"-breakout, it appeared that things were headed in an upward direction.

The blackheads that always dusted my nose and cheeks were definitely LESS noticeable...SCORE!! That alone, made my heart swell and my mind dance with visions of Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Line surrounded by puffy pink heart bubbles. Mama M. + Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Line = TRU LUV 4 EVR.

I was graced with a bit of PMS during my review of Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Line and discovered that my usual breakouts, while still there, were definitely less in amount and in size, than they usually were. Yay!

All in all, I feel that Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Line is a decent product...after all, it actually made a dent in these blasted blackheads of mine!

Now...if only I could find that fountain of youth...then we'd all be set! ;)

  6. Umm..I'm a couple of months from FORTY and I still have acne! ugh! Although I do have to say that the last few months seem to have been a little better than it used to be. I seem to go through spurts though where it looks terrible and other times when it looks fine - not great, just fine. :P And I also have those ugly, dark circles under my eyes like Sandy said above. Same here! grr...

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte...
