Five Question Friday! 2/19/10

My Little Life

Howdy friends! I dunno 'bout you...but I am sooooo glad that the weekend is here!

No plans, no dates, no commitments...just me and my fam! (And, it's my Gram's birthday! Happy Birthday Gram! And, Happy Birthday K. Aloysius B. yesterday!!!)

Those are the best weekends, in my opinion, of course!

Oh!!! And, have you checked out my new "Personals" page? Pretty fun stuffy, if you ask me ('course, I'm a little biased...but, still!!)...click here to see what it's all about!

But...enough about that, let's get down to bidness! It's Friday...and that means it's time for *insert booming MC voice here* Five Question Friday!!

Rules for this fun little gig...copy and paste the following questions to your blog, answer them (like, duh!), c'mon back, link up and grab the MckLinky Blog Hop code (you know, if you want the code...)! I would kiss ya on the lips and be your best friend if you'd link back to me, Mama M.!

Here we go!

Questions for Friday, February 19th: (Thanks to Renee, Christy, Heidi, Lisa P, and Robin for their question suggestions! Would YOU like to be linked in a future 5QF? Just offer up your best questions here, in my community!)

1. Have you ever hit an animal with your vehicle?

2. When you see a string on your clothes do you pull it off or cut if off?

3. Did you have your own room or share a room when you were young?

4. Would you rather wear the same thing for the rest of your life or eat the same thing for the rest of your life?

5. What was your favorite TV show as a child?

--------------------------------------

1. Have you ever hit an animal with your vehicle?

Oh my gosh...I saw this question and immediately thought "YES!!"...not that, you know...I hunt down animals and kill them with my car.

It seems more like...well...like they hunt down my car and throw themselves beneath it.

The first time it was a cat. I was a young driver...and it totally freaked me out! It didn't die, so we scooped up this poor cat and drove it to the police station (I know, what were we thinking?!!).

They wanted nothing to do with it.

Nothing.

So, we headed back to where I hit it (and I say "we" 'cuz I had a coupla friends with me...) and we made the "boy" in the car go door to door to see if anyone had a cat that was missing.

No one did.

We then made that poor boy put the cat out of it's misery. And, I don't think he's ever been the same since.

Poor boy.

Poor cat.

Next up? A dog.

A dog that was the size of a semi-truck...I swear! Black as night...and the night was black too, didn't see the darn thing 'til it turned it's head and BAM, there were the eyes...but too late.

That dog was old...and technically, I didn't hit it...the Mr. was driving...but, a bit traumatic nonetheless...'specially when I saw the sheer size of the thing (shmucked up our van, too!).

And, lastly...was a deer. Did our van in good that time (photo here). That was the hunting season my hubby got skunked...I teased him incessantly that I was the one who got a deer that year (never found it, tho...).

2. When you see a string on your clothes do you pull it off or cut if off?

Will you laugh if I tell you it depends on the clothes?

'Cuz it totally does!

I mean, if it's my ratty ol' college sweatshirt...yup.

But, if it's a fancy new pair of jammies like I just picked up at my (still) favorite store, aerie, nope. Not gonna pull it!

I'd tie it off, then snip it all nice and tidy like.

3. Did you have your own room or share a room when you were young?

Well...I've gotta admit.

I was the princess of the family...the only girl amongst four children. So, yup...had my own room always!

And, my parents let me do all up in purple. Not a fun, funky purple...but, lavender. For real, I even had lavender carpet (which proves my parents are way nicer than me, 'cuz no kid of mine's puttin' purple carpet in their room! Paint? Maybe. Carpet? Heck no!)

I hafta say, there were many, many perks to being an only girl!

But, one big drawback.

I never had a sister. And that makes me kinda sad...

4. Would you rather wear the same thing for the rest of your life or eat the same thing for the rest of your life?

Seriously, Lisa P.? I hafta choose?!!!

Um...ah...well. Let's see.

I think I'd rather wear the same thing for the rest of my life. I love to eat.

I love to eat lot's of different things...all the time. Everyday.

Always and forever, amen.

Oh...oh...but I love to wear cute stuff! And cute jammies, and cute shoes, and cute jackets!

Arrrrggghhhhh!! You're killin' me!

I can't take it...

I plead the Fifth.

5. What was your favorite TV show as a child?

Oh...okay...hold on a sec while I dig deep into the recesses of my brain to try to remember.

Alright! I'm back now! Sorry to have kept you waiting!

Okay, so...here's what I came up with..."Smurfs"..."Roadrunner"..."Saved by the Bell" (A.C Slater was sooooo dreamy...)...and then, of course, there was "90210", that I lived for as an "older" child (and, folks...I'm talkin' the real 90210...the original, not this new-fangled one!)

And, yes...I know that was plural TV shows...but I have a hard time making decisions...and besides, I didn't want to discriminate! I mean...gosh! How would Wile E. feel if he knew I picked the Papa Smurf over him? And, the SBTB crew? They might be devastated if they knew I chose those 90210 rich kids...

See my dilema? No? Oh...well then...ahem. Sorry.

  17. I completely agree about being the only girl. There are some great perks, but when I look at peopole who have sisters . . . it DOES make me sad. I also ended up having only boys, so I've wondered what my children are missing not having a sister . . . especially to boss them around like I did to MY brothers! LOL

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Crock-Pot Fajitas

You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
