Five Question Friday! 1/10/13

Well, I did it. I vlogged. And it ain't pretty! Bad light, bad skin, a baby (almost 5...waaaaaaaa!!) on my lap wanting attention...and...AND?

Mistakes. First, I thought you'd be able to hear the Christmas music (watch for it) and it's dead silence with me staring off with a goofy smirk 'cuz I thought I was being all smart and stuff. FAIL.

Second, I make it sound like Kelly Moore Clark challenged me...personally challenged me, to find a baby name for her. WRONG. She mentioned on Twitter something about a baby girl name, which started a flurry of name suggestions from my Twitter friends and I and I took it upon myself as a challenge. Kelly Moore Clark ain't got no idea who I am other than the crazy, obsessed follower that keeps offering her names like "Honor" and "Prudence" and "Virtue" (must be 2 syllables and NOT in the top 1000 most popular names). Anyway, don't go getting all impressed that KMC called me up and said, "Yo. Mama. Get me a name." NOT HOW IT HAPPENED.

But there wasn't no way that I was gonna re shoot it...so, you get whatcha get!

Anyway, here are the questions again, for those of you that need them!

2. Do your kids have iPads? What are some good educational apps? Price?

4. If an apple a day keeps the doctor away, which apple do you choose to eat? (red/green, gala, red delicious...)

5. What is your favorite place to escape to for peace & quiet, to think? Why?

And, without further ado:

Nice still shot.

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

  1. I'm not one for the flu shot either, although my doctor used to insist on it for my son, who was borderline asthmatic. When he got a little older, I started letting him choose, in which, he has chosen not to. I know-bad mom. His breathing is much, much better, by the way.
If you homeschool, I don't know if you are familiar with cyber schools that run thru the public school system, but the one for Pennsylvania is absolutely top notch! The curriculum, the books, and the teachers who help when needed (some children do virtual classrooms, and some do self-paced) are all fantastic. I just wanted to mention this because I am a mom who did not feel capable of handling home schooling completely on my own. This way, I am able to have my daughter schooling at home, but she being a senior, I don't have to remember all the math I did over 25 years ago. I don't know if they have any apps, but with the lessons, they do have some great links to interesting learning videos and such. When my son cyber schooled, he loved the science videos they linked to.
Honor-that IS pretty! Never thought of it as a name, but it has a nice sound to it for a girl's name!
    Have a great weekend!

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Crock-Pot Fajitas

You! Yes, YOU!! You must stop whatevertheheck it is that you are doing, and make this recipe. Right now. Tonight. Well...wait. You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte...
