Prom. Prom? PROM!?

How am I old enough to have a child going to prom? Insane.

This last weekend was our school's prom and Pal took his girlfriend (remember, "Prom Traditions"?) with a bunch of his buddies. Gotta admit, it was really fun to see my boy all dressed up with his girl (who is the most adorable tomboy you've ever seen...seeing her all dolled up was awesome!).

Speaking of getting dolled up...isn't it unfair that this is what it takes for a guy to get ready?

Shower, get dressed, leave.

Sheesh.

So anyway, as per tradition, oodles of prom go'ers meet at a local "park" in town for photo ops after they're making the rounds to each other's families. I met "the kids" down by the mighty Mississippi and took TONS of pictures.

Holy smokes, guys, when did the girls become so...developed?! Gah. I don't remember all the cleavage at my prom!! And, the dresses????? Geepers, I feel like a prude, but DANG! Some of those girls needed a sweater!

We had tons of fun with the guys...here is one of my favorite photos of the guys:

The girls were a little more shy, not willing to loosen up as much as the guys!

And, some of my favorite photos of my boy and his girl.

What a fun day for them! I had a talk with Pal before he left I said, "I'll tell you what my mom said to us, 'No sex, no drugs, no booze'.", he laughed and said, "Hano (his teacher) told me, "Pal, 'No drugs, do dooies (DUI's), no grandkids', that's a good prom weekend!"...cracked us up!!

And, in a moment of "aw shucks"...I wore purple to my prom, as well!! :)

  8. If the state of Minnesota has snow through April - why in the world is prom so dang early?! That poor girl - she looks frozen!! (and of course, the snow in the background of one of the pics doesn't help me picture her not frozen!)
    They all look beautiful tho!

  10. Oh, so beautiful! Love her dress!! SO, my cousin is a professional photographer and I used to help them at the prom a few years back. OH MY WORD! Seriously, more skin, boobs, and legs (practically bums hanging out) than actual dress. It's gross!! Why is that?! Our world is all about sex appeal. sad.

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Crock-Pot Fajitas

You! Yes, YOU!! You must stop whatevertheheck it is that you are doing, and make this recipe. Right now. Tonight. Well...wait. You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte
