Foiled again.

So, my whole "swimming" plan? Over before it started. I called, and it's 7 bucks a pop to swim. Which, really isn't all that much singularly, but when added up over 10 days it's 70 bucks and then, BAM, I'm 1/7th of my way to an iPad.

Or, 1/3 of the way to a membership. And, if there's something I hate, it's paying good money for something then not having anything to show for it. So, I should just buy the membership, right?

Well, that would make sense, but then I called my insurance company to see if they offered a discount on gym memberships and they said no and then I was all FORGET THAT, imma just sit on the couch and eat this bag of chips then and let you PAY FOR MY HEART ATTACK INSTEAD.

Jerkfaces.

After I finished my bag of chips, I decided that I needed to do something. Then I remembered that Belle got Just Dance 3 from Santa and LIGHTBULB I had hatched a new plan. I'm not sure if you've seen this post...but Mama likes to dance.

Mama's dancing ability? Nada (unless some vodka is involved), but in the privacy of my own home? BRING IT.

And now my butt hurts. Turns out I actually did work out. I still think swimming would've been the "IT" workout to tone up quickly, but oh well. This'll work too.

Or, at least make me think it worked. (I have this weird mindset that if I work out I suddenly turn into a Victoria's Secret model. Then, I take a shower and I'm all, "What IS this loose skin and mushy abs all about? I JUST WORKED OUT. Hello! SUPERMODEL.")

  3. LOL!!! This post was hilarious!! I went through the same thing with tennis (each hour was $7) and I was like "OH YEAH??? GUESS WHAT I'M GONNA DO??? NOTHING!!!"

And you work out and feel really good and somehow your ultra-skinny jeans don't fit right away and it's such a disappointment LOL!!!

But keep going! hooray for exercise :)

  4. I love that you're dancing your way to fitness! Sadly, my iPod is in the shop and I cannot be trusted to run left to my own devices so I'm using my elliptical and watching tv. SHake it, Mama!

  6. I spazzed my way through one Just Dance song, and it was a blast (harder than it looked, but a blast). I think it's going to be one of my forms of exercise this winter, too! :)

  9. I got Just Dance 3 with the Wii I got for Christmas. That is definitely a workout! I really think it will be as good as swimming if you keep with it and do it often.

  11. OK, you are hilarious. And I would pay good money for video of you doing that dance workout. I bet you could even make enough money for views of that, that you could get yourself a swim membership! ;)

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

You should probably finish reading this post first...you know...so you know how to make it... But then...STOP! STOP everything, make this, and thank me later! Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out. ( Ahem... ) Just keepin ' up with the times, friend. So...slice up those peppers and onions into cute little strips... And...try your best to not slice up the little fingers that are sneaking away pepper strips... (Lemme just inte...
