My Little Life

Used to be that I'd share a picture now and then when I did a photo shoot. While my shoots are few and far between these days, I do have some to show you! But first up...how do y'all store your photos? I've discovered my picture taking has WAY slacked off since my laptop ran out of memory. And, I'm not a fan of my external hard drive because it just DUMPS the pictures in there and, for example, leaves me with 5+ photos with the same title (DSC_0043 or something like that). Can I move them into folders? Will it take me 87 years? Is there some online storage solution that I can pull my photos back from (not Shutterfly, for example)? I've tried uploading to Google, but it never works. (What am I doing wrong?) Help!! Anyway, here's a few of my faves from my most recent shoots... Happy Monday!

Sometimes, I just feel like writing. Even when I have nothing important or earth shattering or silly or smart to say. I guess maybe I ju st like hearing myself talk? Who knows. What I do know is that I miss this place. This outlet. This teeny little voice of mine on the world wide web. I took some photos of a sweet 6 month old last weekend...he has the most amazing blue eyes and best chubby little rolls you've ever seen!  He reminds me of my Dubya...laid back little chubba. Speaking of Dubya, he missed out on joining a travel baseball league last year...and has been pestering us ever since to sign him up this year. So, we contacted coaches, discussed pros and cons and decided, yes. What the heck, let's give it a go. That same week he "won" (earned is probably a better word) a Kindle Fire from a school fundraiser for selling the most raffle tickets...special thanks to my mom and dad's friends that helped support his endeavor and purchased oodles of...

I went through a busy spurt with photos this fall...right in the midst of the job change and everything, but dang, when I get to capture things like this: It really makes all the extra work worth it! This little peanut was so fun to photograph!

Seems like my photography goes in spurts. I'll do a bunch, then none for awhile...currently, I'm on the "doing a bunch" swing, and having fun! A few little peeks for your Wednesday morning enjoyment...

I'm working in my In the Kitchen with Gram post, and while I do, I thought I'd share a little something with you. As you know, my baby just turned 5 *sob*...you may not know this though: she loathes getting her pictures taken. Well, actually, that's not entirely true. She just loathes anything that anyone wants her to do...it's all gotta be on her time. So, I totally bribed her. TO. TA. LLY. I was all about asking nicely at first. Then pleading. Then I resorted to the bribes. First, a treat. And her eyes lit up...then, I threw in going out for lunch and she was putty in my hands. I'm quite pleased with what I got! Take a look:

I just finally  downloaded the Christmas photos from my camera...and it made me miss Christmas all over again. Have I ever told you how much I love Christmas? Oh. I have? Well, carry on then. Anyway, my babe was in rare form on Christmas Eve morn, asking to be photographed: Posing: "And mom, one like this?": Then came the requests for photographing her baby doll...who also received a brand new Christmas nightgown. I obliged, of course: And apparently, I proceeded to get very busy while someone  began snapping photos of her surroundings. I was about to delete them all when I realized, wow...this is what her world looks like. This is Christmas through her eyes. Sigh...so much to blog about, so little time. (And no, I won't mention last night...you're welcome for that!) ;) My nephew. Sweet Baby C. I can't tell you how long I've wanted to kiss and snuggle and nuzzle sweet baby necks and smell sweet baby heads. I can't do that at work...sometimes, I truly have to restrain myself and every once in a while I sneak in a quick sniff...but to have a baby that I can snuggle? Love. Pure, blissful, amazing love. And, he's incredibly adorable to boot. Seriously? Just look at him!

"Beautiful Belle"...redundant, no? I absolutely love this photo of my eldest girl. Caught in a moment...unaware that I was there until I quietly said her name. Working on a project with her little brother down by the lake. This is what I love about photography...capturing "those" moments. Moments that would otherwise be lost forever in the blink of an eye, in the passing of a second. I played around with this photo in Lightroom a bit and I really like what I came up with...just the focus on that gorgeous face of hers...and those eyes. Those eyes that are caught some where between blue and green. And to think...her heart is even more beautiful than that breathtaking face of hers.

Who's really a lot less "baby" and a little more "toddler". I want her curls. She wasn't having ANYTHING to do with pics, ...so I just snapped where I could. And I captured this: Love. Sometimes, you just gotta go with the flow and you'll be rewarded with a winner!

One of my dear, sweet friends recently brought her freshly turned 2 year old over for some pictures. If you remember, I did her one year pictures ... And, she just wasn't havin ' it. At all. Didn't really appreciate me at ALL. Or my camera. This time, we started out in a similar fashion... And then? Then I mentioned a sucker after we were done and suddenly? WOWZA !! Where's this girl been the last two years?! ;) She was a delight...and I think I got some pretty good shots!
