Back to Reality.

Boo. Why do vacations have to end? I mean, why can't life just be one perpetual vacation? Wouldn't that be nice? No responsibility, no demands, no schedules...that'd be the life. We had such an amazing time...and now, here I sit, paying bills and barking at kids to finish their chores. REALITY BITES. BUT...oh, my friends...BUT...DESPICABLE ME 2 is showing in a theater close to us tonight! TONIGHT!!!!  So, if vacations must end, I suppose ending with a viewing of my most favorite movie ever is a good way to end our first "non-vacation" day. Now, I must go flip the laundry. I feel like Cinderella after midnight.

This Is the Best.

Lake life is where it's at, friends.  We've had two days of glorious weather and today,it's lousy and cool. Boo.  Last evening we went fishing and slaughtered the crappies...that's "crop-ees", for those of you that think maybe I'm excited about catching poop. Fish. Not poop. I've decided that owning a resort would be the perfect business venture for the Mr. and I. I could live my dream of lakeshore living and my entrepreneur husband could work his ever loving butt off as resort owner. Win-win, right?! :) I've been a slacker with taking pictures with my "big-girl" camera and have been turning to my iPhone camera more often than not...a glimpse of the last couple of days:

Whirlwind Disney...

Holy moly you guys...we did it. We're home. We're tired. We're right back in the swing of things, school for Belle and jammies 'til noon for me. :) And you know what? I've missed blogging. My computer battery died on Day 2 and being the uber organized person that I am, I discovered that I left my charger at home (along with one flip flop). Anyway... I received the warmest, squishiest, lovliest welcome home yesterday...signs and hugs and kisses and more hugs and "what didja get us, mom?"s. My souvenirs were deemed a success and I canNOT wait to show you what I got for baby girl. It's my favorite present ever. So, not sure if I actually put our trip to "numbers" but, we did 7 major theme parks in 4 days. Animal Kingdom/Hollywood Studios, Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld, and Epcot/Magic Kingdom. We ran out of time at most parks and I could've spent an entire day at Islands of Adventure. No, scratch that, I could've...

Our Cabin

You know how we're totally organized? How we have things planned out for months and months, years even, in advance? Oh, wait. That's not us . Forget it. BUT...lemme show you what happens when you fly by the seat of your pants. It's kinda like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book, in someways. (Remember those? They were awesome.) You start off with something, and before you know it, you're forging your own path, your own destination...only you can't go back to the previous chapter and pick a different adventure if you don't like how your adventure ends. But anyway... After the Pal's team won our District Championship , there was a scramble for hotel rooms. The state tourney was going to be held in Bemidji and apparently lodging is sparse, so the team ended up at a Super 8 without a pool. We booked ourselves a room, lamenting the whole "no pool" thing (incredibly important as one tries to entertain 4 small children with lot's...

Lake Time...

Sleep when you're tired. Wake when you're rested. Eat when you're hungry. Clean when you darn well feel like it (or not at all). Ahhhh ...this is the life. Except, you know, when I get a phone a call from my dad that starts with small talk before he utters the dreaded "Everything is okay, but..." words. *Gulp* Turns out my grandpa ...who is almost 81, golfed 27 holes on Wednesday, and rode some pretty fierce roller coaster rides on Monday...had a heart attack today. I originally misunderstood and thought all of this happened yesterday, but, alas, it was just today. And, I've gotta say, as much as I know my presence at home wouldn't change anything, I still feel the pull to go. We won't, though. We've been instructed to "enjoy our vacation!!" as Gramp is doing very well after having 2 stents placed. So well, in fact, that his nurse kindly asked his visitors to leave today because he was laughing and talking too muc...
