The Reception Part Deuce...Wedding Weekend Part 4.

So, I promised more on the reception, and I just KNOW that you've all been dying to know about it. Biting your nails, wondering WHAT on earth is taking me so long to post it. Oh, er...you weren't? Well, here you go anyway! Remember when I said the kids had plenty of time to bonk heads and smash chins and run crazy and make me noivous and kick groins and cut a rug? See, proof: The "Dollar Dance"...and as I'm typing this, I wonder...is this a nation (world?) wide wedding activity, or is it specific to the upper MidWest? (And, here's where I resort to flash photography. Oh, well...) My handsome husband, giving his best man speech (awww...look! He can't keep his eyes off me! Hmmm...maybe 'cuz it's that we had been fighting and had just made up a few hours before and he's thinking about "sealing that make up" later in the evening? No? TMI? Sorry...): One of my (many...for the record, my husband is one of 10 children! 6 boys, 4 girls, ...

The Reception...Wedding Weekend Part 3.

Gah !!! What kind of sister-in-law am I to have not yet posted a picture of the beautiful bride?!!! (Thank you, Josanne , for bringing that to my attention!!) To make up for it...here she is, in all her glory: Now...the reception... So, 47 hours and 23 seconds after we first arrived at the church, we made it to the reception. And, by "we" I mean all of my SIL's and our children but sans husbands, because they were all in the wedding. (For the record, my husband is one of 10 kids. Big family.) You know my baby? She who is fiercely independent, strong willed, and stubborn? Yeah, her? Well, let's just say I developed an aversion to her midway through the day. It took all I had to not scream and tear out my hair when I heard for the 40 billionth time, "I want DADDY!!!!!!" and then, when she got daddy, to hear, "I want MOMMY!!!!!!!!!". Anyway, as this aversion was developing throughout the day, my wonderful husband was having a grand old time being a p...

The Ceremony...Wedding Weekend Part 2.

So, I woke up after the Groom's Dinner feeling even more like cocky-poo than I did the day before. (Too many Mike's Lemonades, perhaps?) The Mr. sweetly asked me how I was feeling, and I think I answered with a groan. It wasn't so much a "hang over-y" feeling, as it was just a plain old "ill" feeling. Just a few short minutes later, he brought in a few ibuprofen for me... His version of an olive branch? We went to get our left behind vehicle, and on the ride to town, we made peace. When we returned, he got ready and was so incredibly handsome in his tux that even if he hadn't apologized, I would've forgiven him right then and there. Besides, I think the drool on my face would have given away my softening heart. I dunno for sure, but I think maybe it would have. (Whoooo weeee!! Dude was smokin' hot. Gosh...I'm blushing just thinking about it...) What proceeded was perhaps the longest three hours (okay, more like 5...photos, ceremony, rece...

The Groom's Dinner...Wedding Weekend Part 1.

It was a marathon weekend. Only I sprinted. And, if you sprint during a marathon...you crash. You run out of steam. You tucker out. That's what happened to me. But, lemme tell you 'bout the Groom's Dinner...(sorry, no photos of this...you'll learn why soon.) As Best Man, my hubby had lots of duties. As brother of a brother visiting from California, he had lots of excuses reasons to spend time with his bro he only sees once a year. As husband to a wife who is just a tad high maintenance worth it and feeling like cocky-poo, he should have made me chicken noodle soup. Instead he went squirrel hunting with his brother. (Oh, the joys of living in the country...don't worry, I don't eat them. *gag*) But, not before there were some "words" exchanged between us. The day went on, he rushed home, as I was rushing out to get our big boy from football, and he left for the wedding rehearsal . I got our kiddos settled, made them supper, and got myself ready for t...
