In the Kitchen with Gram...Gnocchi and Pork!

Gram and I were just talking about how wonderful this whole cooking thing has been...I'm not sure why we've never done it before, but the time we set aside each week to spend together, cooking, has been the most wonderful thing in the whole wide world. Sure, it was this goofy old blog that was the premise behind it, but man alive, it's turned into quite a blessing! Anyway, today's recipe involves butter, lots and lots of butter, and onions...onions that are soaking in a butter bath, and gnocchi (potato dumplings) that take a dive into that butter bath with the onions and then pork and sauerkraut. But if you really wanna know, it's the gnocchi and the butter and onions that steal the show. *swoon* And, as is typical with the majority of Gram's recipes, nothing is difficult with this recipe! Alright, grab your pork, toss it in a roaster,  Season well (dare I say "heavy") with salt and pepper: And "brown" it in the ove...

Guys, I've just gotta say it (again?)...this blog "feature" that I'm doing with my grandma? Best. Thing. Ever!! Win win win (win?). I get to spend "scheduled time" (i.e. no "gosh, it's busy, life is crazy, I've got x, y, z going on...") with my gram, I get to learn her culinary secrets, feed my family the goods we cook and bring it all to YOU. Why didn't I think of this sooner?! Anyway, my grandma makes the best (EVERYTHING!!) gravy...and today, I'm going to show you Pork Roast Her Way, in anticipation of her mashed potatoes (light, fluffy, heavenly) and gravy later this week. I'd lump 'em all together, but I found that two (much less three!) recipes in one post are overkill...too many words, too many photos, too much "do this and that and this and that" for one post. So, one recipe per post it shall be! First up: Grab yourself a little Crisco...Gram says "oil just doesn't do it". List...
