Whoa...been FOREVER since I've done a "Real Time" post, no?!
So, here's what's happening, in real time, in my home...
I have a sleeping Baby Girl beside me. No matter how big she gets, she'll always be my Baby Girl...or Baby...or "the babe". Being the youngest in the family means she'll always be saddled with that nickname.
Mr. Wonderful is in the kitchen...I can hear papers turning, I think he's working on our taxes. I used to get excited about taxes and getting a little money back every year. Then, my husband became part owner of an LLC and suddenly, my tax return DISAPPEARED and the money that we show as "income" on our income taxes is NO WHERE near what our actual income is. Something about having to claim the business profit as our income? Anyway, now tax time makes me anxious. I loved the simplicity of the days of Turbo Tax and early February filings. Sigh...such is life.
The rest of the house is quiet which leads me to believe this: 1. The boys are asleep and 2. Belle is watching YouTube videos of EleventhGorgeous or Brooklyn and Bailey or Beautylicious Insider. Which makes me wonder: WHAT is it about some vloggers that just MAKES them so watchable? I mean, you know, not that you'd every catch me watching EleventhGorgeous all by myself. Ahem. Moving on...
There are planes flying around like crazy tonight. We live nearish a small airport and goodness, there's been a lot of air activity tonight!
I'm SUPER anxious for spring. I know, just a couple of weeks ago I was longing for a snow storm, but then? YOU GUYS...we had a stretch of absolutely, positively GORGEOUS weather. 60-70º, sunshine and that sun on my cheeks and the fresh air smell on my kiddos made me ALL SORTS of ready for spring. Ohhhhhhhhh, how I want nice weather now! Currently, we're back to 40's. Amazing how warm 40º feels after a stretch of 20º days and how cold 40º feels after a stretch of 60º days. Such fickle creatures we Minnesotans are!
In other news, the Mr. and I enjoyed a weekend away last weekend. Went with my bestie and her hubby to a resort and had an AMAZING time! Tried my first Moscow Mule...it might very well have been my last Moscow Mule as well. It was a weird drink to me...kinda tasted like my great-grandma's musty cabin...but it got better the more I drank it! Weird.

VERDICT: School as usual. :(
All winter long, I've longed for snow. We'd get a dusting here or there...maybe a few inches, then it would unseasonably warm up and melt away and we'd be left with brown yuck. Bare trees, brown grass, small brown piles of snow on the corners...blah.
Christmas came and went with barely a snow flake in sight...for this born and bred MinneSOOOOOta girl, Christmas just doesn't feel right without a beautiful new blanket of sparkly snow. (Pre-Christmas photo below...)
January came and went with barely a flake. Even the bitter cold (which I can HAPPILY do without!) was no where in sight. It was bizarre. February passed by...this time WITH the bitter bold, but, you guessed it, NO SNOW. Around the middle-ish of February, I said..."You know what's gonna happen? JUST when we're all ready to welcome spring, we're gonna get DUMPED on." And guess what?
Here we are...March 2nd and looking forward to spring and guess what's gonna happen tonight? SNOW. Not a ton (I've hear anywhere from 3 to 8 inches), but enough that it's "making people talk"...will we have a school delay? A snow day? Nothing at all? WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN?!
Since I've become a school nurse, my snow day attitude has changed (albeit, VERY slightly)...a snow day for me means a longer school year...but I still love me a good snow day. (Just not LOTS of snow days!)
And so, as we settle in for the night, anticipating what will come tomorrow, I would be lying if I wasn't secretly wishing for a snow day (and, also, I'd love some snow during DAYLIGHT hours...I miss the beauty of falling snow! Seems that all of our snow has come at night...boo!!) and a lazy day home with my babes.
Baking cookies, perhaps?
Making some sort of slow-cooked, time-intensive, heart-warming, soul-satisfying meal?
All of the above. Yes please.
And so...check back tomorrow and see what the verdict will be. Snow day or "life as usual"?!
